Signature 2

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. There is no need to sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article?. Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. Jac16888Talk 12:51, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

You can't just copy content from other websites either, its not enough to say you have permission, you to go through WP:OTRS to prove it. Also you cannot have the Basshunter image on your userpage because it violates our copyright rules, see Wikipedia:NFCC rule #9, and why did you make this edit, [1], I fail to see the value in removing a valid picture and restoring a link to a picture which has been deleted. I'm sorry to have to nag like this, but these are important rules, mainly the first two, which are rules we have in place to prevent legal action being taken against wikipedia--Jac16888Talk 17:42, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Arriva Southern Counties Page Move

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Arriva Southern Counties a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. I've gone ahead and fixed this for you Jac16888Talk 11:22, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Yep, that's gonna be it. -- DQ (t) (e) 16:37, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Renaissance era costume on Tights

Why do you keep removing that image? Like it or not, it is a useful illustration of tights in the historical costume context. -- Jay Maynard (talk) 19:36, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

I have updated the article Arriva Southern Counties with a free image by Alzarian16 of what is documented as the same bus type and location File:Arriva_Medway_Towns_6443_GN04_UFM.jpg. however, serves the "replace with free-use if possible" clause. Kindly Calmer Waters 09:56, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Wow had no idea the new image was there .. I dont get the "It not as nice of a profile;" bit ? anyway thanks for your help. Davey2010 Talk 17:09, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Arriva Southern Counties

Hi Davey. I was wondering about the move of Arriva Southern Counties to Arriva South East. Now, as far as I understand it, the use of the name "Arriva South East" is purely for the website - to avoid confusion with Southend being in Essex but being part of Southern Counties.

I don't think that the actual companies have merged - do you have anything to show this? Also, if they had merged, then we should have put both the Shires & Essex and Southern Counties articles into the South East one. At the moment we're in the messy situation with an article covering half the information it would need to and the rest of the information in completely different place! I think we should move it back to Southern Counties to what the actual company name still is. A couple of sentences in each the Shires & Essex and Southern Counties articles mentioning the websites were merged should suffice. What's your opinion?

P.S. the picture of the Dennis Trident at Bluewater - it's actually a Volvo B7TL. Arriva436talk/contribs 13:08, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Hiya mate, oh god please tell me your joking .... Ive clearly not thought this through .... ummm yea i think someone should move it back .... thinking about it now its all messed up ... yup none of it makes sense so yes think its the best idea ... also the admin originally moved it as i messed it up lol,

and the picture - i knew that :) ... i shouldnt edit at 2 in the morning, thanks for pointing my mistakes (yup i am grateful as it means i learn from my mistakes) and thanks for helping too :) Davey2010 Talk 16:14, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Yeah I think it's best where it is at the moment, at Southern Counties. I wouldn't be surprised if they do properly get merged one day to make back office savings - but for now it think it's best left as is. If we rush into stuff it can go wrong. For example, when National Express re-branded, someone immediately moved Travel Dundee to National Express Dundee. It was then over two years before any of the buses actually got National Express Dundee names/liveries!!
No worries, I', glad I could help! Arriva436talk/contribs 21:14, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

No doubt someone will move it again ... I guess if it was happening and or any importance it would of been on buses, yup and as ive proven today it had gone wrong but yea all sorted :) Davey2010 Talk 21:23, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Hello there Davey. I noticed you recently made some edits to the Waterloo Road article and would first of all like to thank you for taking a proper interest in it, as it is usually targeted by vandals etc. Secondly, I have since made some further edits and have slightly changed one you previously made. I therefore think it is only fair I inform you what the change is. The cast section of the main articles info box now displays the names of the actor/actress who, as of the last episode, remain in the current cast. I have also changed the link, previously labelled “see list” to now read “former cast”, as to provided a link to the characters article containing the names of the actors/actresses who have previously appeared. (NOTE: When Series 7 kicks off on 4 May, the list will again be updated to include the names of the new actors/actresses joining).

Once again, thank you for your interest in the article, and I hope you enjoy editing it. Although, as I said earlier it is often a target of vandalism, but It is good to know there are other editors who know what they are talking about.Waterloo Road ED (talk) 18:09, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Hiya, your more than welcome :), thank you for contacting me and accepting it :), I wasn't sure weather to remove the names or not but thought if anyone had an issue than it could be reverted, thanks ever so much Davey2010 Talk 21:59, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Rochester post town

Hi Davey2010, just to explain why I have once more removed "Strood" after you again inserted it into the list of post towns in the United Kingdom. Royal Mail assigns one post town to each address in the UK, which usually indicates the location of the local Royal Mail delivery office. There are many places such as Strood where the post town does not reflect the main local identity, but Wikipedia has to reflect facts as they are, even if we don't like the current reality! Though you are free to contact Royal Mail directly if you think that Strood should not be part of the Rochester post town, the Wikipedia list has to reflect the current official post town allocations. You can check postal addresses online at http://www2.royalmail.com/postcode-finder - for example, the official postal address of Strood Railway Station is Canal Road, Strood, ROCHESTER, ME2 4DR. Royal Mail usually show the post town in capitals, so you can see that Strood is a locality in the address but not the post town. Hope that explains things. Cheers. — Richardguk (talk) 23:40, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Hiya Richardguk,
Yup that explains more clearly, I've completely misunderstood the whole post town thing completely,
Should of asked before editing, lesson learnt :)
Anyway apologies for that & thanks for explaining :)
Davey2010 Talk 23:50, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
No prob, glad it makes sense now! Thanks for the positive feedback. — Richardguk (talk) 14:09, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
