I have moved the article for you. I would suggest some clean up (section breaks, mainly) and some independent reliable sources. If you have any questions, let me know. Cheers! TNX-Man 20:36, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And I have added a couple of maintenance tags. Please take a look at some of the other bios on WP to get a feel for the appropriate tone - some of the language in this one is a little "flowery" and unencyclopedic. Also please look at WP:MOSBIO for assistance with appropriate formatting for bios. Thanks. – ukexpat (talk) 22:11, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh and I also removed the redirect to the article from your user page as that was a remnant of the page move. – ukexpat (talk) 22:13, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message on my talk page. If you were getting a "blacklisted" error when attempting to move the article it's probably because at some time someone else wrote an article on a Gerald Epstein that was deleted for some reason and to prevent that article being re-created the page was "salted" (protected from being re-created). An admin can override the protection and that's what happened here. As regards the help, that's all part of being involved in a huge collaborative project like Wikipedia - positive contributions that add to the project are always welcome even if they need a little work to get them into shape (and believe me, yours doesn't need much compared to some we see!) and there are many other editors willing to help do that. Please continue to contribute to Wikipedia and above all enjoy doing so! If I can be of any help at any time, please leave a message on my talk page. – ukexpat (talk) 16:45, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please take a look at the article's talk page - there is a discussion about notability and references. – ukexpat (talk) 16:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gerald Epstein revisited[edit]

Thanks for the message. The article has not been deleted and still exists at the link above. If you have changes to make to the article, you could just go ahead and add them, or, ex abundante cautela you could put the re-written article in a user subpage, User:David Hollidays/Gerald Epstein for example, and then ask at the article's talk page and/or on Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests for other editors to review before the changes are made to the mainspace article. Let me know if you need help creating the subpage, but just clicking on the red link should open it in edit mode, ready for creation. – ukexpat (talk) 16:27, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Where did you ask for comments? You should post a message on Talk:Gerald Epstein and, in case that talk page does not get much traffic, also post your request at WP:EAR. I will take a look at your draft when I have a little more time. Don't forget that we are all volunteers here so may not be able to provide you with near instantaneous feedback. – ukexpat (talk) 19:38, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last time the comments on my entry turned up within hours. So, since I entered the new version on the 27th, I assumed I did something wrong. I have now posted a message on Talk:Gerald Epstein but don't know how to post a message on WP:EAR. Thanks again for your help. David Hollidays (talk) 19:49, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Epstein style[edit]

Hi David Hollidays, I'm sure you can transform the article into the encyc ideal. Am happy to check it over again later if you need. But if he is hard to find tertiary support for, that might be saying something for him as an individual, but an article on imagery theory and practitioners, now that would be interesting and he could be listed among them. Just a thought. Btw, the article on Creative visualization also needs work and maybe you already saw the disambig list: Visualization. Cheers, Julia Rossi (talk) 20:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Another Epstein (page for you)[edit]

Hi David, I looked at your article at User:David Hollidays/Gerald Epstein and made another page to demonstrate more for you to look at by comparing them: User:David Hollidays/Gerald Epstein 2. I've started some format changes for you to finish making uniform in the article including numbers: 10 and up are in figures; section headers need to be "dry" in tone with the details in the paras, not in the header, with a capital at the start and the rest lower case unless proper nouns.

I've wikified some of the prose and some reference format as well as including a reference section where they will automatically appear. When you wikify the reference style in the body of the article, they will appear that way in that section. I've made a couple of comments hidden in the edit; when you click on "edit this page" they will appear in this html: <!-- blah blah --> and you can remove them when you want to. I struck out some stuff to show the difference between making "press release" type statements and encyclopedic language.

Another point is that somehow your word processor is putting in slanted versions of these ' ', and the result is quotation marks when they need to format italics – you may need to change from "smart quotes" to the other. Wikistyle for books is not the square brackets, but italic for books and journals with articles in " as you did already. I hope this gives you the general idea for you to follow up on. Be sure the language is not WP:WEASEL or it will cop a tag; also be sure it's not WP:COI or it may be listed for deletion. Enjoy your editing, Julia Rossi (talk) 04:27, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again David, I'm happy to help anytime. So nice to have your kind thanks, good luck with your computer, :) Julia Rossi (talk) 23:06, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Gerald Epstein re-revisited[edit]

Thanks for the message. Your changes are in the article at Gerald Epstein, though I edited the headings to comply with the manual of style. If you want the title to be Gerald N. Epstein, you will have to move it. Let me know if you need help to do that. – ukexpat (talk) 15:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have left the wikify tag because the article still needs wikilinks in the body of the article. – ukexpat (talk) 16:08, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:MOVE for help moving the article to a different title. – ukexpat (talk) 13:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can move it for you, let me know. As for the "pipe", on most US keyboards it's ⇧ Shift+\, immediately above the enter key. – ukexpat (talk) 19:11, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
On the move, it's not really an issue of avoiding confusion - that's dealt with by disambiguation - the question is what is he commonly known as? If he's usually referred to as Gerald Epstein then it should stay where it is. If he is usually known as Gerald N. Epstein, then we should move it. Hope this makes sense. – ukexpat (talk) 14:37, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The way to construct that link is [[Phenomenology (psychology)|phenomenological]] (note spacing and caps), which renders as phenomenological. – ukexpat (talk) 20:10, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The layout looks fine. It could do with some more wikilinks etc, but I have removed the tag. – ukexpat (talk) 16:15, 13 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
