Information icon Hi David Soyer! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at G-Dragon that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Adding new information to articles should not be marked as minor. Alex (talk) 09:51, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh sorry, I am new to this. I didn’t know. Are you the creator of this page? David Soyer (talk) 11:09, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, I didn't start the article, I just edit things as I come across them. We all start somewhere, no need to worry! You'll soon pick things up as you continue editing. Have a good day! Alex (talk) 11:12, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have one more question. Shouldn’t the page be locked and people who want to change something go through the person who locked it? Like the creator of the page, or you because you seem to be very knowledgeable. Just Incase people come in and try to change things out of spite. I have looked at edits other people have made and other people have called out those people for putting useless and random stuff. David Soyer (talk) 16:32, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles can be protected to various levels if there is persistent vandalism, policy violations etc, but locking it to prevent anyone from editing at all is usually a last resort and only temporary. You can read more on protection (that probably explains things a lot better than I do):
Hope this helps you, Alex (talk) 17:37, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
