Transcend Tsonic

Hey dude, can you tell me, what I need to do in order to wikify the Transcend T.sonic article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rsrikanth05 (talkcontribs) 04:16, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Answered on your talk page. =David(talk)(contribs) 22:17, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks agian mate. Rsrikanth05 05:29, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

What else do I need to add as the article is being proposed for deletion. --Rsrikanth05 08:36, 13 October 2007 (UTC) Is it okay if I upload all the images, under the GNU GPL, and submit it to the Image team for adding transparency. I have added a list of models, and I will shortly be adding, the features just like all other PMP's have on their page. Also you said delete and merge, what is that supposed to mean? --Rsrikanth05 18:34, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject Nintendo Page Redesign

A new page design is being considered for the WikiProject Nintendo page. A rough draft can be viewed here. Please add all comments and thoughts to the discussion. From the automated, Anibot 22:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Since you started the process, here is my contribution. I would like to take it a step further.

A tag has been placed on Diablo III, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Under WP:CSD, this is "No content" and "No context". Blizzard has not announced a single thing. Nada. Nothing. Not even a strong hint. Obviously they will make the game eventually... but this is an encyclopaedia, not a rumour mill and not a forum.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

... blah blah and so on and on. The article is highly speculative, as you mentioned to its author. I am no longer a Wikipedian, but hopefully this will get the process started for deleting the stub. It is silly to have it there with no substance whatsoever. I hope you will agree and continue to support your decision in declaring it to have a lack of context.

Hi (:

So, I'll get right down to it. I don't actually know what I am doing where Wikipedia is concerned (though apparently I've been at this since June '06), and I stumbled upon you through "Wikipedians who like Harry Potter." Not to sound creepy-weird, but you and I seem to have a bit in common, and as you seem to have your act together on this whole Wikipedia endeavor, I thought you'd be a nice ally to have when questions arise (as they seem to do so often where I am concerned). If this is really terrifying, I'm sorry: I honestly don't know how to go about anything on here except revert vandalism through Recent Changes and other very simple editing.

Thanks! =/ Ashleyscripter 00:31, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Editor Assistance

Greetings, I have been involved in an edit war (Yes, I know, I hate them!) in many articles having to do with Argentina's population and Amerindian ancestry (Argentina, Argentine American, White Argentine, Demographics of Argentina, White People, etc.)

One user in particular, User:Fercho85 reverts my many edits every time, even though they are backed by sources. Our problem, I suspect, is that he doesn't want to acknowledge the Amerindian ancestry of many Argentines and insists that the whole population (practically) of Argentina is White/European. I agree that Argentina has one of the largest pure-European/part European descended population (After Brazil, and before Mexico) in Latin America (Or all the Americas, for that matter), but there are many studies that show a large population have Amerindian ancestry (Whether small or large amount).

My source, in Spanish, http://www.clarin.com/diario/2005/01/16/sociedad/s-03415.htm states that 56% of Argentines has some Amerindian ancestry. This, to me, should be added in all articles having to do with the Argentine descended population... as the European population is always referenced. Please help me to overcome this POV of sorts.

This may not be your area of interest or expertise, but if you can help I would be very greatful! Thank You in advance. Cali567 (talk) 07:08, 9 July 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:PaintDotNETv3 20.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:PaintDotNETv3 20.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:26, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Editor Assistance Needed

I have gotten stuck in an editing war on the page for figure skater Johnny Weir, and need help to resolve it. I have already tried discussing it with the other person, and there has been no resolution.

Everything in the Johnny Weir article is fully referenced with published sources (I did much of it myself), but there is someone named Siflnollie who insists on repeatedly adding a middle name ("Garvin") to Weir's name, even though his middle name has never been publicly revealed in any source (only his middle initial is known). Siflnollie has told me in our discussions that he/she has ordered Weir's birth certificate (which I am fairly certain is illegal for someone other than the actual person to do, since birth certificates are used as positive personal identification by the federal government for such things as getting a passport, so anyone with a birth certificate can claim to be that person - when I ordered my birth certificate last year, I had to certify that I was the person on the certificate) and accessed his private tax records and so KNOWS that is his middle name.

If Siflnollie has indeed gotten ahold of Weir's personal records, we only have his or her word on that, and there is simply no published source that can be referenced for "Garvin" being Weir's middle name. It therefore does not meet Wikipedia verifiability deadlines.

I would appreciate your help in ending this, as I am tired of re-deleting the same unsourced and unverifiable information repeatedly. Thank you! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.16.102.219 (talk) 17:02, 23 October 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:OldOakenBucket.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:OldOakenBucket.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --Hammersoft (talk) 19:58, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
