Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:VSRamachandran.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:VSR.jpg. The copy called Image:VSR.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Image copyright problem with Image:VR3.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:VR3.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 05:55, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Ramachandran article rewrite[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your work on the Ramachandran article, but in addition to deleting much valid material, it violated many of the guidelines for biographical articles on Wikipedia. Please read up on WP:MOSBIO before making other major edits to biographical articles. Cheers, Robert K S (talk) 19:30, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the article again. Please do not make the same changes again without reading WP:MOSBIO. Robert K S (talk) 06:34, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your message. Not that it's been an issue so far, but please make sure all information is properly sourced--"Dr. Ramachandran said so" doesn't meet verifiability requirements. Also be sure that your "edits by proxy" do not constitute conflict of interest; Wikipedia articles should contain point-of-view neutral, verifiable information, not necessarily "information that the article subject wishes to have included". (Here, I'm not disputing removal of personal information for privacy reasons.) What has been an issue is the article's transformation into a CV rather than an encyclopedia article; rendundancy and bloat; and poor writing in the science sections. Note that the article has gone through significant editing by User:Edhubbard to incorporate your changes and bring the article more in line with the goals set forth in WP:TPA. Finally, don't forget to sign your talk page messages by using four tildes (~~~~). And if you want, you can tell Dr. Ramachandran that his Reith Lectures are the most fascinating and enjoyable recordings on neuroscience ever made. :-) Cheers, Robert K S (talk) 14:13, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to take a look at and if desired chime in here (re: privacy of birth year). Robert K S (talk) 20:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Could you tell me how you contact Professor Ramachandran? Did he give you permission to use the picture, via e-mail? If that is the case, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Thanks, Nishkid64 (talk) 04:22, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree Image:Vsramachandran.png[edit]

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:Vsramachandran.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. If the image's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the image description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 22:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC) --– Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 22:23, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incidentally, I notice that the image was deleted; see the deletion log. You might want to re-upload it and declare it public domain, if indeed it is a public-domain image. Also, you haven't responded on the Ramachandran talk page as to why you believe Dr. Ramachandran's year of birth is not public information suitable for inclusion on the page per guidelines. Images listed for deletion[edit]

Some of your images or media files have been listed for deletion. Please see Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion if you are interested in preserving them.

Thank you. Image:VSRamachandran.jpg lists the source of the image as the UCSD Department of Psychology, which rules out the {{PD-self}} claim made by the uploader. Nishkid64 (Make articles, not wikidrama) 03:01, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
