WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages

Thank you for your recent articles, including Werner Drewes, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. In the past I have made DYK and GA nominations for my stronger articles and in doing so I've learned a lot (although the screen reader problem hasn't been pointed out to me until now). Mostly, although it's clear I still have much to learn, I prefer to spend most of my time researching and writing and not so much of it working to be sure I've got everything exactly right.

In regards to the images, it's fine. The reason I said it's not good practice is because it's actually discouraged in Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility#Images due to mobile devices (particularly phones being unable to display images to the left and right, so they will actually display in one column from top to bottom). My fix isn't perfect, but it should resolve the issue for now without creating too many more issues. Epicgenius (talk) 21:18, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

Ann Brockman

Dear Delabrede, Ann Brockman and her husband Bill McNulty were great friends with my grandparents in 1930-1943. I have a large oil painting she did and gave my grandparents. I also have a couple of McNultys etchings. I believe the townhomes they rented were my grandparents townhome, who also rented a house in Long Island where my great grandmother and great-greatgrandmother styed to take care of mother and her sister.. My grandparents were Jack Kerkhoff, columnist and reporter for a couple of New York papers (one was the old Heast paper) and my grandmother, his wife, was Ellen Hogue, a published writer who co-authored with Beckdolt on a couple of books and she was also a poet, published.

Let me know if you want a jpg of her painting. Growing up in So. Calif..my brother and I always called Old Grump Face. My grandfather loved the painting but Ann didn’t..,she gave it to him. Thanks for contacting me. Yes, I would like to see a jpg of the painting. My email is delabrede@yahoo.com. I didn't know about the friendship of the Brockman-McNultys with the Kerkhoff-Hogues. Brockman and McNulty were good friends with Jack Bechdolt and his wife Mabel Claire. Bechdolt was a newsman like Kerkhoff, and Claire was a writer like Hogue so there's an obvious connection. Brockman and McNulty lived at 404 W. 20th St in NYC between 1917 and 1943 and after her death he stayed on until 1945. During that time, the building was owned by members of the Cushman family (who owned a lot of properties in the Chelsea neighborhood -- I wrote an article about 404 W. 20th for Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/404_West_20th_Street ) . Although I couldn't find any indications that Brockman and McNulty lived in a townhouse that Kerkhoff owned, that doesn't mean that they didn't of course.

You probably have searched Kerkhoff thoroughly. This is what I found poking around the internet this morning:

He married Eleanor STINCHCOMB, an author herself, who wrote under her grandfathers name-Eleanor Hogue. Jack and Eleanor had two daughters together. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1940. He then met and married Ruth B Burnette on April 26, 1941, in New York City, New York. Jack died on May 2, 1958, in Baja California, Mexico, at the age of 57. Johnston aka Jack Kerkhoff was a newspaperman, having worked at the Detroit Free Press, the Philadelphia Record, the New York Hearld Tribune under Hearst, in addition to writing historical novels on Aaron Burr, Alfred Dreyfus and one on himself .
