Not to sound condescending, but good on you! I tag images frequently because my time on WP is either on quick spurts (time enough to do little things like tagging), or in long drawn-out stretches. I'm glad that I could help lead somebody else to fix problems I've come up with. — pd_THOR | =/\= | 00:28, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting on CBC page[edit]

I created a category for CBC personalities a little while back. But I only seen the lists of personalities on the CBC page yesterday. There is no need to revert back because the CBC personalities category does the job of a list. A list is useless when there is more redlinks then blue. Please don't revert back. It's real not necessary to have lists and a category. Mr. C.C. 14:37, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was looking at some articles and they make no mention of them ever being a CBC personality. Those lists don't give any insight whatsoever. I see those lists as redundant. Mr. C.C. 06:04, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

SVG logos[edit]

Insted of just putting that userspace tag on SVG logos, could you help transition the image back to a low-resolution image? It would help more. Also, remember that I7 requires that the uploader be notified and that a 48 hour delay occur for images uploaded since July 13th, 2006 until deletion, and a week for images older than that. Unspecified source for Image:Bssm9.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bssm9.png. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 60.53.2.151 12:34, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deleteable?[edit]

What do you think of Sailor Moon bootlegs? I don't want to be mean, but.... I'm not sure it can become a good article. I guess maybe if it has exact info about who are the ones selling these, but that kind of information generally isn't well-known, since they're illegal. And how to recognize a bootlegger belongs on a more general page. I dunno. --Masamage 18:33, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:CA NDP 2004 Logo.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CA NDP 2004 Logo.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Durin 13:41, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you had a problem with the svg ibm logo.
Replacing the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IBM_logo.svg with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IBM_logo.png is decremental to wikipedia.
a) current form for logo is more suitable for vector image
b) svg version is higher quality, occupies less space
c) svg version of logo renders faster, clearer, png version may take twice as long to render
d) the IBM article without the ibm logo? - you might as well remove logos from Microsoft and Dell

I have sent an email to IBM requesting permission to use the logo in it's current high quality version in all 100+ articles,
It is fair use to present the IBM logo alongside IBM products.

Please explain two things: 1) what is there to "resolve" about how the station was affected during the 9/11 attacks; and 2) why did you remove the succession box? It was never a problem for anyone before, and I don't see how it's superfluous. Rollosmokes 02:37, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The screenshot is described in the article as showing "the North Tower just as it started to collapse," while the caption on its image description page says it shows the towers just after Tower 2 was hit by United 175. Those two events happened a long time apart, hence the "contradictory" tags.

That can be changed with a simple re-wording of both that section and the caption below the screenshot. No tagging necessary. Rollosmokes 03:00, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Sailor Senshi.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sailor Senshi.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 60.48.117.199 14:59, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Consonants[edit]

Your reverts are getting kind of frustrating because, in my opinion, having the trill consonant row double-sized (which it does no matter what the text size is on my window) looks awful. My edit may not be perfect, but it's still an improvement. If you're not going to try to fix that double row problem yourself then don't please don't revert my attempts. Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 12:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried the text size thing. It's the same even when the text is at its smallest. My resolution is 1280 x 800 but even if i had a lower resolution, we should conform wikipedia to be presentable at the most common resolution, which is probably going to be 800x600. Also part of the problem is that the headers on the right are completely misaligned. Looking at the edit history, I see that you are the one who made the edit that made the trill consonant row doubled-sized. Perhaps you could review the edit that was done here and maybe find some sort of remedy. But if you can't even see the problem then, to fix it, you might need to use internet explorer. We do use different browsers and that could be the reason for why we see the layout differently. Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 21:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ha ha! I understand your reservations about MSIE. It is, however, the most commonly used browser by far and so this is not just an issue about readability on only my computer. I'm sure that using it just for wikipedia just this once will be fine securitywise. If I'm wrong, I owe you a coke. Otherwise, I guess neither of us is qualified to fix the problem and we/I'll have to request the help of someone else. Ƶ§œš¹ [aɪm ˈfɻɛ̃ⁿdˡi] 06:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of people may thing that he spent his life to insulting, so in the Italian Wikipedia we have longer discuss how to make a good article that can not degenerate. Quoting a colleague of Germano was our final decision, because people that know him for the video immediately understand that the article is not a list of swearwords and insults of Germano.

Good work :)[edit]

Saw your work on the Canadian postal codes article - looking good! In many cases with the refs I suspect it will just be matching whichever content in the bottom links to the right section of the article, the last few will probably require a bit more searching (or luck). Orderinchaos78 18:00, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As the 7 calendar days are coming close upon us, what we might need to do is temporarily remove the four uncited statements to the talk page until they are sourced, and then pass the balance of the article. What do you think regarding this? (No pressure whatsoever - just one of many possible solutions) Orderinchaos78 11:17, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Good idea. Have passed it for GA. Once the comments are reinserted with appropriate sourcing (as I feel they do add to the article), I'd recommend getting another independent reviewer in (preferably one who has experience in FAs - one I might recommend is User:SandyGeorgia) to look over it afresh and identify any remaining issues before going for FA.
