For your amusement: Microsoft Bob vandalism[edit]

Thought you might be amused that the very first edit after you summarized a revert with

rv - if you're going to vandalize at least be creative

was vandalism, adding:

Ironically, if you mix the names of the former manager and project leader then you end up with French Fries!

I guess someone read your comment?  :)

Awfully sorry[edit]

Somehow I didn't notice your and DeLarge's edits and was convinced I am just removing hoaxer's Saturn Savrin... Was a bit in a dehoaxing frenzy I guess... Please accept my sincere apologies - and wishes of Happy Easter if you celebrate it! :D PrinceGloria 17:31, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Timelines[edit]

Sorry for the delay in replying. You do have a point. However, breaking up the generations also makes it a little harder to see which breaks are new cars or just new generations. Now, where there's a different article for each generation, like on Australian cars, maybe they could be broken up. But the problem is, the more space these things take up and the worse they look, the more editors will want them removed completely. There is a discussion going on about this at the WikiProject right now. That Chevrolet timeline, for example, had a couple places where a car took up two rows, in one case because a second unnecessary name was added and another because of a generation break (which wasn't even a new generation for that car, IMO). --Sable232 18:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good. Go right ahead. --Sable232 01:50, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the Geo names from the time line. They are relevant as Geo is a part of Chevrolet's history, but not actually Chevrolet until after the name was absorbed. --K Watson1984 04:05, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why did you revert my edits?[edit]

Can you please explain why you reverted my addition of photos to the article Saturn (automotive company)? --CyclePat2 06:51, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your explanation. I don't agree with everything you are saying. I removed much non-sourced information. I even placed it on the talk page so someone else can try and find the sources. You indicated that there is no policy on this but in fact WP:VER is a fundamental policy of Wikipedia which states "The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material. Material that is challenged or likely to be challenged needs a reliable source, which should be cited in the article." I didn't appreciate being flaunted the vandalism rule when in fact I'm trying to help out. Ad priori and common sense dictates that if the fundamental principals of Wikipedia are being violated it must be corrected. Removal of the non-sourced content is not vandalism. Don't go reversing the rules... I've done my part in respecting the rules. It's your job now to try and find some sources if you wish to keep the content. Good luck. --CyclePat2 19:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why you continue to revert my edits for www.volt4me.com. Volt4me is the only website that is dedicated to the production of the Chevy Volt and not just on information related to what is happening. This is a grass roots effort to organize Volt lovers and to make them part of the process. I will keep revising this post as I firmly believe in this effort.

user:Sayoda comment[edit]

What is your deal?? In no way shape of form is my site SPAM. I will continue to re-post it. My site has news, photos, a forum, interviews, videos and more. It is linked to from GM blogs and a variety or other reputable sources. I am getting a little furstrated and deserve an explanation.

The above comment was unsigned and place d by user Sayoda. Please sign posts in the future and start a new section to avoid confussion with other peoples comments. Thank you! --CyclePat2 19:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the prompt response DM. I spent time reviewing both of the links you embedded

  1. According to Wikipedia:External_links#Links_normally_to_be_avoided
  2. According to Wikipedia:External_links#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest

In reply to the first, the site is not a forum but a site dedicated to the Volt. One of the areas of content is indeed a forum however as you will note, it is the last link in the site's nav and thus not something highly publicized. That being said I feel you have probably not taken the time to adequately review the site and instead read a previous comment re:forums and decided to jump to conclusions.

I do respect the rules here and in regards to the second link it does say "You should avoid linking to a website that you own" it does not forbid it by any means. That being said, I will post a neutral link on the discussions page and let the masses decide.

Fair use rationale for Image:04SaturnCurve.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:04SaturnCurve.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia 23:22, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pontiac Template[edit]

Hello Denimmonkey,

I'm not exactly sure of how to go about this, but I notice that you're a major contributor, at least, and wanted to draw some attention to the following matter:

It seems that you and I have now both entered into something of an editing war with Jgera5 on the Pontiac Template.

Anyhow, I've added a section on the discussion page, but Jgera5 keeps insisting on making his changes and undoing my reverts.

Jgera5 is extending the template to 2010 and adding vehicles that have not been officially announced by the manufacturer (specifically a "Pontiac G7" that is supposed to fit between the G6 and G8), much less have concept photos, official names, etc.

Jgera5's source is a newspaper article from Lordstown, OH that does not cite GM, but two outside "analyst" sources. Jgera5 has edited it differently each time, vascillating between a 2009 and 2010 debut for this "Pontiac G7".

Either way, we're talking about 2010 product plans when the 2008 model year has just begun. A lot can happen in 2 years. So I wanted to get some extra input on the matter so we could better settle it.

I've also sent a similar message to Sable232.

Thanks! Rhettro76 00:01, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Numbers?[edit]

Hi, I like your template for the Saturn models, but what do the numbers under the years mean? UrsaLinguaBWD (talk) 05:50, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
