Apologies for not assuming good faith[edit]

I just wanted to apologize for initially tagging Teleprompter of the United States as vandalism when I should have proposed it for normal deletion with discussion, if anything. I saw the infobox and picture and immediately assumed that you were using Wikipedia to make a political funny. I'd like to think that if it had been a rather tongue-in-cheek article on a uncomplimentary liberal nickname for an elected official, I would have done the same. Again, sorry -- it was nothing personal, and I'll be more careful in the future. – PranksterTurtle (talk) 21:10, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apology accepted, I can understand why you did it. – Dermus (talk) 01:19, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Teleprompter of the United States[edit]

Hi! I like your article Teleprompter of the United States. However, I moved the article to Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama because most of the people who want to delete it are saying that it's just about what Rush Limbaugh said. They are wrong. Before Limbaugh used the phrase, lots of mainstream news sources reported on the subject.

In order to upload the image that you requested and not have it deleted, I would need information about who owns the copyright. Most images on the internet cannot be uploaded to wikipedia due to copyright. If the picture was taken by a federal employee as part of his or her job, the picture would be in the public domain, which would mean that we could put it in the article. Do you know who took that picture?

Grundle2600 (talk) 01:09, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Good job on the move, I was thinking that was the best way to save it. You also caught the TOTUS redirect so that's good.
As for the image, I don't have a source... Could you find any good images of the TOTUS for the article then? We need some illustration of TOTUS beyond that little image from the BO article so that people can get to know him better.
Dermus (talk) 01:17, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm glad you're happy. Thanks for your praise. I can't make any guarantees about images. However, I made a backup of the entire article as it now appears in case they end up deleting it. Grundle2600 (talk) 01:25, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
We can fight this! I'm thinking of making the TOTUS a section on it's own to isolate Rush to that section. This way, we can make the first paragraphs about his excessive reliance on teleprompters. Edit: Nevermind, you did it as I wrote this:D Dermus (talk) 01:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I do think it might be a good idea to move the Limbaugh section to a later point in the article, but I won't do it, because I'll leave the decision up to you. Grundle2600 (talk) 14:50, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I know what I said a few hours ago, but a lot of people are using the Limbaugh stuff as an excuse for deletion. I'm going to move that section, and greatly reduce its size. I'm not doing this because I disagree with what you wrote - I'm doing it soley to prevent the article from being deleted. Grundle2600 (talk) 18:56, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just moved the Limbaugh section toward the end of the article, and greatly reduced its size. I don't have anything against any of what you wrote - I only did this to try to prevent the article from being deleted. Grundle2600 (talk) 19:30, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama[edit]

I have nominated Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Scjessey (talk) 16:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article cites The New York Times, U.S. News & World Report, Times Online, The Daily Mail, The Politico, Financial Times, and Canada Free Press as sources. How can you say the article is not well sourced? Grundle2600 (talk) 20:42, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

socialist heraldry[edit]

Gimme five! —Tamfang (talk) 04:01, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's a good joke but not worth insisting on, imho. It's clearly not in the style discussed. Perhaps you're suggesting that the description of socialist heraldic style is incomplete?  —Tamfang (talk) 09:42, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Ali'i/Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Ali'i/Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Ali'i/Teleprompter usage by Barack Obama during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Scjessey (talk) 04:14, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
