Your cut and paste move of draft:Sandeep Kumar Mishra to the mainspace[edit]

Hi Desmond. I've just finished cleaning up the very large mess you left with your edits (and have deleted Sandeep Kumar Mishra). Please don't ever do anything like this again.

  1. You did a cut and paste move instead of using the move function. A "cut and paste move" is just as described: when the content of a page is transferred to a different title by copying and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This cannot be allowed and causes a big mess because it splits the page history, which is legally required for copyright attribution. When you use the move function to "move" a page, you are transporting its page history, where all the contributors of the content are listed.
  2. By doing this, and stating nothing in an edit summary about what you were doing, you committed plagiarism, even if it was unintentional, because looking at the resulting mainspace article you copied and pasted, there was no way to tell the content was not yours. You were thus taking credit for someone else's work.
  3. Because the draft received quite a few substantive edits while it was in the mainspace, this meant that the cleanup required to fix this (just so you know), took me the better part of an hour—to manually transfer back all the edits to the draft, noting each user's linked name, while copying back each edit from each version, and preserving the accompanying edit summaries.
  4. In addition to the copyright problem created by the history no longer being attached to the content it arose from, because you did not follow Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, and attribute the content to its source with a link when you saved the lifted content to the new title, you created not just a copyright mess but a copyright violation.
  5. Additionally, this was a declined draft. This was submitted by its creator through the article for creation process, our gatekeeper process to vet content against our inclusion policies and guidelines before allowing it to be posted as an encylopedia article in the mainspace. It had been declined by three volunteers there with notes as to what was needed or missing for it to be "accepted" (in fact, last declined just yesterday by Theroadislong) – so what were you thinking when you ran roughshod over that process?
  6. On that same issue, when you posted to the Teahouse about the page you wrote "I have got my first Wiki Page approved". ???"Approved"??? What could you possibly mean by that given your actions? That raises a lo-o-o-o-t of concerns. Are you the same person as Snowfall21?--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 03:16, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

No Sir, I don't know that account. Desmond Maverick (talk) 06:16, 9 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
