Just a heads-up that the velocity chart for the .300 Winchester Mag has a spelling error.

Distance, the X-axis, is misspelled.

Yeah, the Admins can be a real pack of asses here.

325 WSM[edit]

Thanks for your edits. I looked if I can easily source 325 WSM aaminition in Europe. I could find 325 WSM empty cases at a few sources for about 1 Euro per case. Look at http://www.jww.de/ausruestung/2200-wiederladen-325-winchester-short-magnum or http://www.jww.de/r30/vc_content/bilder/firma445/068_071_wiederladen_0610.pdf to read a German article about the 325 WSM. Goofle translate can help to translate the German text. You will read the 325 WSM can be fairly easily handloaded with propellants and bullets available in Europe. Since the 8x68S already filled the 8mm magnum niche in Europe, I think the 325 WSM will be an even less proliferated chambering than the 8x68S in Europe. The Sellier & Bellot 8mm 196 gr (12.7 g) FMJ resembles the 7.92x57mm Mauser s.S. military ball projectile which was designed for long range use.--Francis Flinch (talk) 18:54, 9 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what you are getting at here or the point your at attempting to make. (???) Hand loaders/ reloaders do not look at SAAMI/CIP when they create their own ammunition. While I do not speak German, I can read and comprehend articles. Note I have in the past used German articles as references... if that is what you mean. I am still working on the article and remains incomplete. However, one does not look at an individual's reloaded data and give it credence from a Wikipedia standpoint. Factory manufactured ammunition should only be listed for illustrative purposes and for good reason, they respect a standard which is safe in a vast majority of caliber specific firearms. Conversely, if no standard is maintained for a given cartridge then data from reloading manuals should suffice. I am well aware that .325 WSM components are available in Europe, a cursory check on component sellers websites evidence this. BGO... However, I am certain that those reloading are not dragging pressure measuring instrumentation and pressure testing their ammunition against SAAMI or CIP standards. Not sure what is being alluded to in the S&B "looks like... FMJ" but they do not manufacture 325 WSM ammo.
It is certain that the 325 WSM will become another also ran cartridge. Certainly, rifle trends show that much. This was an 8mm cartridge designed from the US and Canadian markets and was a commercial flop from the beginning. But what does that have to do with anything in the end, really. It is still a cartridge and should be treated in an objective manner on the Wiki - just like any other article. Yes the 8mm IS is established in Europe, and the 8mm RWS much less so but is hanging on, the 8 Rem Mag is dead and almost buried and .325 has both feet firmly planted in the the grave. So what... September 2018[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Councils of Carthage. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.
Do not label other editors' good-faith edits as vandalism.C.Fred (talk) 14:37, 7 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lightfoot/Papias[edit]

Hello,

you wrote on Mary, mother of James: "This article requires editing or removal of JB Lightfoot. The work is much dated. He was working from a Latin work as evidenced from his notes. Since then, we have the Greek fragments of Papias. Lightfoot was not working with the fragments but Latin translations of Papias which he believed was spurious of medieval writer by the same name. However, that is no longer the case. Lightfoot is a much dated work, 150 years old. The entry appears to indicate that Lightfoot found the Greek fragments spurious; Lightfoot was not aware of the existence of these at the time of his writing his book. Editors should take more when using date works for citations."

In response I would like to ask you if you can provide any information, literature, links etc. about Greek versions of Papias's fragment x. I also am a bit unhappy about citing solely such an old author (or authors, since Wescott wrote in a similar vein). However, the only sources I have found online that actually do more than just print the fragment, are the ones including the opinions of Lightfoot and Westcott.

I would appreciate it if you could help out. Str1977 (talk) 11:16, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
