Sardar Sher Singh Dhindsa (Sardar Sahib Sher Singh - Hony. Magistrate ; 1858 – 1940) Born in Sailkot (now in Pakistan) was a Zaildar, Jagirdar, Honorary magistrate in the City of Sargoda. He was a member of the District Board and Permanent Member of the State Darbar of the Governor.

He studied in the first school that was opened in Punjab by the British Government at Amritsar. He went to Government College Lahore for his higher education, it was the first college in Northern India. He did his FA (Faculty of Arts) from there and his major was in English, Persian & History.

He joined the British Army as a Junior Commission Officer. Based on his educational background, he taught Persian to the British Officers in the Army. Later, most of his students became Senior Civil Servants, Commissioners, Chief Secretaries and Governors.

After retirement from the British Army, he was granted a large land holding in Chak 115 District of Sargoda. He sold his ancestral land in Sialkot and consolidated his land in Chak 115 & surrounding areas. He was able to acquire very large land holdings in the area, making him the biggest landlord. This resulted in Chak 115 being known as Chak 115 Sher Singh Wala. Later, a Post Office was established in the village which got named as PO Chak 115 Sher Singh Wala by the Government.

In recognition of his service and stature, he was made the Zaildar for the area. He was also appointed as Honorary Magistrate and held his court in the City of Sargoda. Later, he was honored with a Jagir. He was also made the member of the District Board and was a permanent member of the State Darbar of the Governor.

He was invited by the Governor General of India for the Delhi Darbar held in the honor of King Gorge V of the United Kingdom, which was a very rare honor as only a limited people from across India were invited for the event.

He got bricklins in his area to have pakka houses made in the village. His was the first brick Haveli in the area. He was personal friend of Sir Sikander Hayat Tiwana and Sir Khizar Hayat Tiwana, they were the then Prime Ministers of United Punjab. He had exchanged turbans with them and was considered as a brother to them.

He both two villages (Chak 19 GG & 20 GG) in Ganganagar District when was being developed in 1924. He did a lot of social work and helped his relatives all through his life. He gave away Chak 19 GG village to his relatives to help them establish themselves.
