Request reason:

Dear Distinguished Administrator, I'm writing to appeal a block on my account dating from 2021. When I was younger, I vandalised the Wikipedia page of Her Majesty Queen Camilla, and amended her name to a cruel nickname that is commonly used to mock her in the British press. At the time, I thought this was funny and would do no harm, but now that I am older, I can see that not only is this not at all acceptable for the following reasons: - It is very harmful as it demeans another person whom I have never met and thus have no right to pass any judgement on, - It harms the Wikipedia community as vandalising articles defames the image of Wikipedia and, ultimately can put people off availing of an extremely valuable resource, without which many people would not have access to free, unbiased information about a vast array of topics. Since my vandalism of the article, I have taken the time to research and educate myself regarding the life and work of The Queen, and have come to deeply admire and respect Her Majesty for her activism surrounding Violence against Women and Girls. While I may personally oppose the system of monarchy, I accept that defaming a person and vandalising a public resource is not the correct forum to make my voice heard. I sincerely regret my actions and understand now, through 3 years of personal growth, that what I did was wrong and an abuse of my privellige to edit Wikipedia articles. I understand and accept fully the consequences of my actions and would understand entirely if my appeal was rejected. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope this has found you safe and well. Dianaareginaa (talk) 23:30, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What edits do you want to make? 331dot (talk) 07:38, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that I necesarrily want to make edits, it just that I'd like the option to make them if I felt that an article could be improved. Thanks :) Dianaareginaa (talk) 19:34, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No checkuser evidence of block evasion. --Yamla (talk) 11:55, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There's no reason to remove the block if you have no edits you want to make, as blocks only prevent editing. To remove the block, there needs to be some benefit to Wikipedia. 331dot (talk) 19:49, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Thanks for getting back to me - I believe there could be a benefit to Wikipedia. If I see something that could be improved, I would have the option to improve it, if something wasn't accurate or could be added to. Additionally, there are a number of topics that I am knowledgable about that have pages/articles that are a work in progress or don't have articles, I believe I could provide useful knowledge to these articles, thus benefiting the readers. I do hope this clears up my intentions, and I do understand and will respect whatever outcome you see fit. Be well! Dianaareginaa (talk) 20:00, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
