Hallo I am unfortunatly not understanding how referencing works! I did give quiet a few references but I don't see them at he end of my text. I hope that my work doesn't get deleted. It was so much work.

Hi there. Make sure you put {{reflist}} at the end of your article to get your in-line citations to show up. You also might want to take a look at this page for an introduction to references. Topher385 (talk) 22:20, 12 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent article[edit]

Hi, I'm just writing to let you know that your recent article here, Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention is not suitable as an entry to Wikipedia — however, we have an alternative site, here where your entry would be perfect. Would you please go to that site, and add the material there. The item on Wikipedia will be listed as transwikied (moved to another wiki) shortly. Thank you. Re: Operation Guidelines, etc[edit]

Hey Anna. The main concern with your article is that it include a large amount of (apparently) quoted material from the source, something which is neither the job of an encyclopedia nor in fact legal to the best of my knowledge. As a show of good faith I have restored some of the content of your article, so that you can work to improve it. Ideally, the "contents" section should be a concise summary rather than an extensive commentary in much the same way as our article on Inception (film) includes a "plot summary" and not long quotations from the original script of the film. Thank you[edit]

for giving me the chance to work on my article again. The only thing I'd like to ask you is the reason why the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples wasn't deleted? It was after seeing that article that I thought it would be the right way to do it. dipedann 18:39, 13 August 2012 (CEST)

Thanks for pointing that out, I've now trimmed that article's content using the same rationale. Regards, - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 16:55, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey again Anna, I just wanted to note that although I haven't had a chance to review your recent addition in much details, it looks a lot better :) Did you say you were doing this for an assignment? Can I ask which University / course you're on? If you don't feel happy sharing that in public, perhaps you could email me using Special:EmailUser/Jarry1250 (it won't tell me your email address). We have a lot of support available for tutors and their students. Thanks, - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 20:44, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please let me know[edit]

Hi there, thank you very much for your message. I would really like to make further contributions to wikipedia. But I do need a coach, and you seem to be very talented. I am very thankful to your comments (not changing my article but letting me know) so I can further better my article. I am a student at the Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany). The course I am writting this for is "Legal Aspects of Heritage". I think my professor is quiet active on Wikipedia...Please let me hear of what you think of my article. And please don't delete me. dipedann 09:57, 15 August 2012 (CEST)

No users are going to be deleted, don't worry :) Even our most experienced editors started off being "reverted" (undone) or deleted, it's nothing to be ashamed about. Do you know your professor's Wikipedia username? (And does s/he speak as good English as you? If not, I can get a German counterpart to email.)
Regarding Operational Guidelines for the Implementation of the World Heritage Convention, a good thing to do would be to add some categories. The easiest way to do this is to make sure you are logged in, then go to "my preferences", then "Gadgets", and tick the box for "HotCat", a tool that makes it a lot easier to add categories. Then, go back to the article and you should see "Categories (++): (+)" at the bottom of the screen. Click the (+) and try to find a category that might be applicable for the article. If you want guidance on which categories are and aren't suitable, see WP:Categorization. Hope that helps, - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 11:13, 16 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
