October 2020[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Clownvis Presley. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 14:00, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Drmies This is in reference to your editing comments. Can you please explain why it is unacceptable to have a videography section on this page but acceptable for other artists? The OK Go videography page has youtube links to each music video mentioned as references. Would it be acceptable if I created a separate page as with OK Go? I appreciate your point of view about some other aspects of the article: I had emailed the artist to verify that the information was correct, but I understand that more published sources are needed.Dirtbag Venture (talk) 15:18, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article needs secondary sources: primary sources don't help, and primary links are frequently seen as, well, promotional. That other articles have it doesn't make it OK and I'm about to go look at it. But if you are in touch with the artist (I'm sure you're not getting paid for it, but that's immaterial), you should probably declare your conflict of interest--see WP:COIDEC. Take care, Drmies (talk) 20:54, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
