Quick question

Hi. I'm writing to you with a quick question, because I know you are focused on hockey articles and also experienced. The background is that I have an edit dispute with an editor on a hockey article. So to get a better idea of his editing of hockey articles (and others), I took a glance at the few he's created. On a stub hockey article, I noticed that the player seemed unremarkable/non-notable; a QMJHL level player without much in the way of wp notability as far as I can tell. But I don't want to be guilty of following an editor inappropriately, so I thought I would check with you if the best thing to do is simply to let it lie. Thanks for whatever your advice may be. --2603:7000:2143:8500:34F3:46D5:FCE9:6825 (talk) 11:34, 27 December 2021 (UTC)

Feel free to let me know what the article is. But the things to use to evaluate if the article is ok would be to check WP:NHOCKEY which will let you know if they were drafted in the 1st round of the NHL draft they are ok as a QMJHL player. There are a few other ways on there they might, but the bigger one is WP:GNG. If there are sources to meet GNG then it would be ok. Otherwise it may be needing a delete. -DJSasso (talk) 14:49, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
Hi. Thanks. It is Robert Orr (born 2003). Perhaps I'm missing something. Not to overly burden you, I just asked at the group hockey page what editors thought of its notability. Have a great new year. --2603:7000:2143:8500:508B:C400:F170:5B (talk) 10:07, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 15:59, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Question about Template:Ice Hockey Stats

I've been looking at a couple of PHF player pages, and I see the "External Links" section on some of 'em that include the template above. For example: Audra Morrison. I've read the documentation for the template, and I see that it uses some information from Wikidata. I went and found Audra's Wikidata page, and it makes sense how the template makes use of the particular Wikidata items to create the external links to (e.g.) EliteProspects. The part that I can't figure out is how the Audra Morrison Wikipedia page knows that it links to that Wikidata page to look up those particular Wikidata properties. I don't see anything on her Wikipedia page source that makes that connection. Do you know how that magic happens? TIA. --MikeVitale 20:50, 2 February 2022 (UTC)

@MikeVitale: Sorry for the slow reply. It works based on interwiki links to wikidata. Since that wikidata page is linked it knows to grab the information off that page on wikidata. If you look on that wikidata page on the right side it lists all the language wikis articles it is linked too. Your example only appears to be English. But if it was an article with multiple langauges you would also see them listed down the left side of the English page here. -DJSasso (talk) 13:58, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Thank you bunches! No worries about the slow reply…I’m just happy to better understand how this works! Thanks again. MikeVitale 17:29, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Date format on Mats Sundin

Hello Djsasso! Would you be so kind as to help me explain to an IP how WP:DATERET works? The person has consistantly changed dates to mdy-format on Mats Sundin over the last few days, and I don't want to break the 3RR. I've written and explained my actions on the IP's talk page, but no response as of yet. Regards QubeCube (talk) 21:18, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Sorry for the slow reply, I didn't see this till just now. Looks like they have stopped. If they continue let me know. -DJSasso (talk) 11:56, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Forget11

Why you djsasso block banned Simple2020 and yesyeh2004 and Wikipedia22. You suspicious sockpuppet. You are a bad administration. Why you not give Grace Wan a chance to stay on Wikipedia website. Why you delete page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Forget11 (talkcontribs) 09:18, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Administrators at risk for being desysopped under these criteria will continue to be notified ahead of time. Thank you for your continued work.

Tyler Brown

I am concerned about offensive material appearing in the edit summaries in the history of Tyler Brown. Please see here, here, and here. Thanks if you could take care of this. Flibirigit (talk) 12:21, 16 April 2022 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Category:Fort Pitt Panthers players indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Arena capacity concern

Hi sorry to bother but I noticed you recently edited Scotiabank Centre, I have a question I’m not too sure if you’ll be able to answer it but an IP and I are currently in an edit war regarding the capacity in the infobox, according to the arenas website states "over 10,500", the IP is against just having that alone in the infobox, they want to include practically all the capacities for every event in the infobox, I find that highly unnecessary as that’s not what the infobox calls for. They started a discussion on the talk page but fail to bring any sources. Could you please join the discussion if you could? Thank you so much. Pillowdelight (talk) 00:05, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
