York and North Midland Railway vs. York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway[edit]

Please refer to the map accompanying the Thirsk and Malton Line article: the assertion that the York and North Midland Railway formed the present East Coast Main Line at Pilmoor would appear to be erroneous.
