High Court justices - line of succession[edit]

Hi, just a quick explanation to explain my reverts to your edits to the pages of (in particular) the Chief Justices of Australia. I have made several edits but one example should suffice. When Garfield Barwick retired he was replaced by Harry Gibbs who was already a puisne justice. Although Gerard Brennan is ostensibly appointed because of the vacancy left by Barwick, Barwick is not his predecessor as a puisne justice because Barwick was never a puisne justice. Gibbs is being elevated to replace Barwick as Chief Justice and Brennan is being appointed to replace Gibbs as a puisne justice. Shadow007 11:44, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Hornbook -- a new WP:Law task force for the J.D. curriculum[edit]

Hi Doktor Waterhouse,

I'm asking Wikipedians who are interested in United States legal articles to take a look at WP:Hornbook, the new "JD curriculum task force".

Our mission is to assimilate into Wikipedia all the insights of an American law school education, by reducing hornbooks to footnotes.

  • Over the course of a semester, each subpage will shift its focus to track the unfolding curriculum(s) for classes using that casebook around the country.
  • It will also feature an extensive, hyperlinked "index" or "outline" to that casebook, pointing to pages, headers, or {{anchors}} in Wikipedia (example).
  • Individual law schools can freely adapt our casebook outlines to the idiosyncratic curriculum devised by each individual professor.
  • I'm encouraging law students around the country to create local chapters of the club I'm starting at my own law school, "Student WP:Hornbook Editors". Using WP:Hornbook as our headquarters, we're hoping to create a study group so inclusive that nobody will dare not join.

What you can do now:

1. Add WP:Hornbook to your watchlist, {{User Hornbook}} to your userpage, and ~~~~ to Wikipedia:Hornbook/participants.
2. If you're a law student,
(You don't have to start the club, or even be involved in it; just help direct me to someone who might.)
3. Introduce yourself to me. Law editors on Wikipedia are a scarce commodity. Do knock on my talk page if there's an article you'd like help on.

Talk:2018 AFL season#2018_Attendances_-_Home_state_games_against_interstate_opposition[edit]

Dear User:Doktor Waterhouse

As a member of the "WikiProject Australian rules football" it would be good to hear your opinion on a current debate occurring on the 2018 AFL season talk page.

The debate centres around whether or not a third column should be included in the club attendance table to display "home state games vs. interstate opposition".

The main justification is that Victorian clubs play on average 7 home derbies each year compared to non-victorian clubs who play only 1 home derby each year. This provides an average home figure for Victorian clubs which is inflated as their home games have the fans of other Victorian clubs attending.

Please provide whether you support or oppose this proposal for the third column in AFL Club attendance tables.
