The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Hello, Dominicansinhistory. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Gonzalo Castillo Terrero".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 02:22, 16 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on AJ “El Kallejero” Ramos, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. VAXIDICAE💉 20:56, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

rollback[edit]

Hi Dominicansinhistory. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 20:27, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Arnulfo Jose Ramos[edit]

Hello, Dominicansinhistory,

I just wanted to let you know that it is really really rare that individuals who are "American music executive, celebrity interviewer and host" have Wikipedia articles on them so you set yourself a very difficult task. This is because it is not common for them to have in-depth coverage ABOUT them beyond a mere mention. I just don't want you to feel discouraged, you picked a person in an occupational category that is not well-covered in a project like an encyclopedia. I think your best bet to restart this article as a draft and submit it to Articles for Creation...articles put directly into the main space of the project are subject to reviews that are stricter than those for draft articles which are given time to develop into decent articles. It's always best to start an article in user space or draft space where you can build up sourcing, new articles in the main space can be quickly deleted if they aren't up to Wikipedia standards. And always keep a copy of your work in case it gets deleted.

If you have further questions on creating articles, please visit WT:AFC or the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 01:23, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for your message! I will definitely take your all your advices. I made a copy of this article and will keep looking for sources before I start another one on Wikipedia. Will for sure visit the TeaHouse! Regards, stay safe! Dominicansinhistory (talk) 16:35, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:CONTEXTBIO[edit]

Please read our standards on presenting nationality. People who move to a country as a child as described using their acquired nationality. Example is Isaac Asimov. Skyerise (talk) 16:07, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You are erasing vital information about Johnny Pacheco from the biography, you even erased the fact that he was born in the Dominican Republic, even the category “Dominican people that emigrated to the US”, making the article incomplete. It might help bringing somebody else into this matter because I feel that you have personal reasons for changing this and erasing all the facts about Johnny being Dominican and being born in the Dominican Republic.
you have to edit with responsibility, you can not just go and erase everything, you have to provide sources, and add information about you edit, not just make the article incomplete.
I will rollback your changes on the article until you find sources and add information about where he was born and his origins. Dominicansinhistory (talk) 16:18, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are mistaken. I have not removed either information about the place of birth or the "Dominican Republic emigrants to the United States" category. This is a musician who emigrated with his parents at age 11. His musical origin is New York City. WP:CONTEXTBIO is very clear that we are to describe such a person as American, since we put nationality/citizenship upfront and adding birthplace or ethnicity to the lead sentence is discouraged. You may have a conflict of interest. Skyerise (talk) 18:15, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That’s not true, his father was a great Dominican musician and he learned how to play his instruments in Dominican Republic. It says it in the same article that you are editing, have you read it? Dominicansinhistory (talk) 18:39, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We use citizenship and residence at the time the subject attained notability. Not where they were born or where they learned. It's all explained in WP:CONTEXTBIO, with examples. The subject first attained notability in the US, specifically in New York City, where he had lived and attended high school and Juliard. That's the context in which his notability was established, as an American in New York. Skyerise (talk) 18:45, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I saw that you added some more info to the article about his origins witch is good, now you wrote that he started to record Salsa in the 70s and it’s not true. He was the founder of LA FANIA and the one that named the new genre that he created from Cuban, Dominican and Puertorican and NY music, all that happened in the 60s. Salsa was not a thing, he created it. I only wanted to make sure that the article said that he was born in The Dominican Republic and it’s done, so thank you. You might want to read about Johnny Pacheco and improve this article, he is the most influential figure in Latin Music and yes, he was from NY. Dominicansinhistory (talk) 18:55, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You apparently don't read very closely: the revision of the article states "in the 1960s and 1970s" right up front in the first paragraph where it should be, not buried in the second paragraph where it was. If you can't bother to read closely, don't bother to complain to me about the imagined faults of my edits. Skyerise (talk) 19:00, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

April 2023[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Johnny Pacheco. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Skyerise (talk) 17:55, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
