Go to the first reference. It says his father was Ukranian, but not Polish. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:38, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If the information you were adding was correct, I would stop. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:47, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Please explain to me why you think Mike Ditka's father is from Poland and Ukraine? The source for that information says that he was only from Ukraine. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:56, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i will post it here again as i did in the comments section of yours:==Mike DItka:== Hello could you please stop deleting facts that i added because the page about him is not complete. So stop deleting facts. If you dont know anything about ethnic and regional history or whether you are just taking yourself to seriously remains to be seen. This region is one of the most multiethnical regions in the world.Just because borders changed over centuries it does not mean someone is strictly ukrainian, polish, lithuanian or belarussian.it was and is impossible in this part of the world. And the fact is(that you deletd so there goes your argument that you only delete things that are not facts)that he is in the polish american sports hall of fame.So he is polish and ukrainian.BOTH and propably jewish or armenian, lithuanian, belarussian in too.So how can you write that you are russian, romanian, lithuanian and polish?why are you not choosing one then? You are illogical and uneducted.GET YOUR FACTS RRIGHT AND LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT HISTORY FIRST;If you dont stop deleting my changes that help to make the page morte complete and are not based on opinions rather facts i will have to take other measures AND THE ANME DYCZKO IS THE POLISH VERSION OF DYCHKO WHICH WOULD BE THE UKRAINIAN VERSION:

First off, do not call me uneducated. I understand that the countries of Europe's borders have changed throughout the past couple centuries, but the Chicago Bears official biography of Ditka states that his father was from Ukraine, and does not mention Poland. We here at Wikipedia do not assume that he is also from another country just because you told me so. Unless you have a reliable source, I suggest you stop now. And i still think you are uneducated, cause you hide behind one ressource without using your braiin and knowledke of others.thats called ignorant and uneducated.because you can read and spell does not make you smart.

one of many ressources, and now go and search yourself. i think the people in the voting commity havbe made some researches and i dont think mike ditka would have accepted the honour if he didnt think it is true. http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P1-118146749.html

All I asked for was a source, it was completely unnessecary to insult me. I will add that he was inducted to the Polish American Hall of Fame in 2001 and add the Polish American category, but there are no references that his father was Polish, so I'll leave it at Ukrainian.
