- Sorry, your arguments don't pass muster. While the term "Persia" directs to Iran, the most common name of the country is Iran in English, and the country itself has asked international bodies to call it Iran since the 1930s. Secondly, most international bodies such as the UN and the EU name citizens of the country as Iranian. - Wikipedia uses Iran and Iranian for all things in Wikipedia. The name of the country is Iran as requested by itself, as defined by the UN, as defined by the EU as definied by any international organization. It's citizens are known as Iranians in Wikipedia, because all of those international bodies and sources call them Iranians. Furthermore as I mentioned Persian is an ethnicity within the country, and does not include all ethnicities in the country of Iran, which includes other ethnicities such as Azeris, Kurds, etc. Stop going against all the consensus in Wikipedia. - Not true. Wikipedia has policies, one of them is Naming conventions and as part of that policy names should be used which are "most commonly used to refer to the subject of the article in English-language reliable sources". What matters is that in current day English most sources use Iranian, and that all that counts, and if you continue acting in such a manner, just as editor M D Potter. noted below, you will be blocked.
