License tagging for Image:Don closeup 01.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Don closeup 01.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

Your autobiographical article[edit]

We've had a concerned person bring the article Don Schiff up for discussion at WP:VPA in regard to its being perceived as a homepage sitting in the Wikipedia environment. It appears - please correct me if this is wrong - that you are composing an autobiographical article. It is generally a quite poor idea for a person to initiate and subsequently substantially improve an autobiographical article. The article you have composed is substantially more neutral than most that would otherwise be considered 'vanity pages'; however, I would ask you to refrain from any further work on the article ... let the wikipedia editorial process take its course; feel free to engage in discussions around the article (make sure to put it on your watch list), but folks will be much much more comfortable and your experience here will be much better if you cease working on this article now. Thank you for considering this. For more information on autobiography in Wikipedia and why it is very much discouraged, see WP:AUTO. An alternative to the approach I've suggested here is to 'userfy' the content, turning it into your User Page; User Pages are described at WP:USER. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
