hello, i need help[edit]

hello, i hope you can help me.

a discussion was archivied without resolving it, in fact the issue was in debate and someone cleared the page archiving it.

tha archived page is (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Alexander_the_Great/Archive12#Alexander_the_Great.2C_an_ancient_greek_king_of_macedon.3F)

the new page is the current talk page of the article "alexander the great" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Alexander_the_Great)

maybe the current page is similar for the argument, but not at all, because in this way i can't begin the steps for dispute resolution.

thankyou for the attention, PelasgicMoon (talk) 11:59, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

::UNIVERSITÉ FRANÇAISE D’ÉGYPTE::[edit]

Hello, I am the author of the page on the Université Française d’Égypte. And I wanted to discuss the title of the page with you. You see “Université Française d´Égypte” is not like an adjective that you translate to English when you’re writing an English version of the topic, no, it’s the name of the university. When the university for example sends official papers to anywhere like, for example, the Ministry of Higher education, the letter is in English but it’s entitled “From the Université Française d’Égypte”. We do not translate it as it is, like I mentioned before, a name not an adjective. So I would really appreciate it if you would let me set the title of the page “Université Française d’Égypte” as there is no such university called the “French University in Egypt”. I really spent a lot of effort in this page (as I started it from scratch) and I would really like it to be perfect. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Y2H (talkcontribs) 13:07, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded on your talk page. — Dorvaq (talk) 15:03, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to tell you that I helped in the design, well the latest update, of the website and in this update we were asked to make the main page in three languages as very few people in Egypt understand French, and most of the visitors are parents searching for universities for their children. It is not a big deal anyway, I know, but at the very least leave the page titled "French University in Egypt" like it is and let the page titled "Université Française d´Égypte" like it is for the people who will search the name in French.

??[edit]

Oh sorry, I didn´t understand what you meant by "the way the article is now setup was never an issue"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Y2H (talkcontribs) 21:34, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I know it was never a problem, I´m just saying what is right. Well it doesn´t matter anyway! Leave it like you want. And I wish you the best luck in making Wikipedia a better place! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Y2H (talkcontribs) 20:42, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Justice all the way need your help![edit]

You have helped me before with Rodolfo Valentin article. I am asking for your help again because your knowledge of the way around wikipedia and your excelent common sense. An editor of name Ralicia has created an article about Dennis Oliver and an editor of name "Pigman" wants to delete it a any cost. An administrator of name "Tatcher" has restored after "Pigman" deleted it rareway. Then "Pigman" returned and placed "deletion" tag. Because I placed my opinion to keep the article, Pigman is accusing me of "puppetry" ( having more than one log in in wikipedia?) and accusing me of being another person of name Jorge M. Perez, who happens to be a multi-millonaire from Cuba!. I answered him that "I wish to be that person"!! I do not understand why Pigman is so stubborn in to delete the article of Dennis Oliver. His excuse is that Dennis Oliver does not have notability as an actor. Because I am spanish I was reading all the links to spanish newspapers on Dennis article, and there are very good reports about him as an actor an as a assitant director, also in most of them is Dennis picture!. Furthermore, not every actor is lucky enough to be famous as a Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise, but that does not mean that cannot have an article in wikipedia, rigth?...Wikipedia is not a printed book with limited space....and Dennis has a reputable career as an actor with important roles. Dorvaq, please, help me to prove this person that it is wrong to delete Dennis article. Every single line is backed up by a link to prove it, including Dennis website and his listing in the actors database. Below I am attaching the link to Dennis, articles for deletion listed. Thank you for your help! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Dennis_Oliver justice all the way (talk) 18:35, 1 May 2008 (UTC)justice all the way[reply]

Hello Justice. I'm afraid Pigman is correct in that unless you find better 3rd party reviews on Dennis Oliver, he unfortunately does not meet Wikipedia standards on notability. Keep in mind that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, which means that being an actor alone does not warrant an entry on Wikipedia.
Also, administrator Thatcher did not necessarily overturn the speedy deletion because he/she believed the article should remain, but did so because the article did not meet the speedy deletion criteria it was first deleted under, which doesn't imply the article is safe from deletion.
Furthermore, the articles for deletion process is being followed and all those in favor of the article's deletion are bringing up valid points. Remember, Wikipedia is all about building consensus.
Finally, sockpuppetry is frowned upon when used to push a discussion in favor of the puppeteer. You need not worry if you are not Ralicia's sockpuppet as this will easily be verified. I hope this helps you and good luck! — Dorvaq (talk) 17:14, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your rollback request[edit]

I have granted you rollback in accordance with your request. I found no problem with your recent reverts, and as long as you understand that rollback is only to be used for reverting vandalism, and not to revert good-faith edits or to revert war, you'll be fine. For practice, you may want to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 16:12, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rodolfo Valentin article is constantly vandalized several times by IP 147.70.118.96 I've reverted today at its last original and right article dated JUNE-20-2009, then a username "el estremenu", reverted to the vandalized one.
