Dear Doug Lauffer: I saw your message on the article that you submitted, and I thought I would give you some information to help you get your article accepted. First, about e-mailing Mr. Engler: Wikipedia articles are summaries of published material written about a subject by independent journalists and authors. Live people aren't used for references, especially not the subject of the article, who is not considered a neutral source about himself. Before you submit the article again, you should rearrange it to look more like a regular Wikipedia article. Here's and example that's fairly equivalent: Roland Joffé. To see how to format the references, see WP:Referencing for beginners. Notice that the article is written in paragraphs rather than as points. Try to find as much confirmation as possible without using primary sources such as Mr. Engler's web site or press releases. I hope this helps. —Anne Delong (talk) 02:56, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Your Wikipedia article[edit]
Hi Prof. Lauffer,
It's borderline acceptable to have your Curriculum Vitae on your user page if you're an active Wikipedia editor, but when you moved it to the main article space, it suddenly became subject to the Wikipedia notability guidelines, which are quite strict for biographies of living persons. This is for good reasons: we've had a number of rather embarrassing cases where articles about people who were only slightly famous had been vandalised, and no-one picked up on the vandalism for months. It's generally considered a bad idea to edit the Wikipedia article about yourself, and a very bad idea to create it. For more on this topic, please see Wikipedia:Autobiography#Creating_an_article_about_yourself.
I hope you understand that I'm writing this from a positive point of view, and wish you nothing bad. As an educator, you have a great opportunity to benefit Wikipedia, both by educating your students in how to use it well, and how and when not to use it.
