Hi David
It's a really nice start, and I don't think it's too detailed. You probably could leave out the dates of birth of her children unless you discussed the births of her children in the context of the narrative of her life.
Your article could really use some sections. I have included a link to the Editing Biographies handout - take a look at it to get a sense of what sorts of sections you might want to split this into. You might also want to look at some other articles about scientists to see how they're laid out. The second link is to the Editing Wikipedia brochure. You should have gotten a hardcopy of it, but I'm including a link to the pdf just in case. There's a lot of helpful information in there.

- Thank you for the reply!! I hope it's not too much of a bother, but I have one more question: should I use images in my article? I have seen a few good images that I could use, but as far as I can tell they do not qualify as free use. I would need to get permission from the copyright holder if I do want to use those images, wouldn't I? Thank you again!

Menkin was the subject of a BBC Future article published today (or yesterday; I work nights and get confused), and I just edited the article using it and afterwards discovered you started it as an educational assignment.
