January 2021[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a message letting you know that one or more of your recent edits to Go Crazy (Chris Brown and Young Thug song) have been undone by an automated computer program called ClueBot NG.

Thank you. ClueBot NG (talk) 04:24, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank u, I have been experiencing some editing problems, and wasn't able to fix the error Dramatised X (talk) 04:27, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Verifiability[edit]

Hey Dramatised X, I wanted to let you know that I reverted your recent edit to Blank Space. Some friendly reminders: the thing you add needs to be supported by the source, even you know it's true. In this case, the fact that she's the only woman to have achieved this feat to this day is not supported, because the source was published in 2014. Also, we need to be careful when we say "only person to have achieved xyz to date", because if another female artist does the same, it becomes outdated. So we have to qualify it with "as of 2021". Cheers, Ovinus (talk) 05:45, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The midweek charts are not final[edit]

Hi. Several days ago, you updated List of UK Singles Chart number ones of the 2020s but the final charts had not been announced yet. These aren't announced until Friday. It appears you saw the midweek "update" charts published on officialcharts.com. We don't add these, so please don't add this data to articles on Wikipedia. Thanks. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Dramatised X! Your additions to What's Next (Drake song) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 22:13, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help and advice, will keep it in mind next time. Charlemaine (talk) 09:20, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Marking edits as minor[edit]

Hi. Please stop marking large additions or changes of content as minor edits. For example, you added 2,000 bytes to the article for Justin Bieber's "Peaches" in March and marked it as minor, and added hundreds of bytes recently here and here. These are absolutely not minor edits. Anything more than fixing a typographical error, a couple changes to punctuation or an edit that does not substantially alter the page in terms of bytes is not a minor edit. Please see Help:Minor edit for what constitutes a minor edit. Repeatedly marking edits as minor, regardless of the size change listed, is misleading to others. Thanks. Ss112 10:34, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever. At least it's not incorrect info. But I'll remember that when I'm correcting someone's mistakes, or adding some minor edits. 🤟 Dramatised X (talk) 12:50, 10 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
