Shivnath Singh[edit]

This runner, I think, deserves a better article. I hope you might consider expanding it. He was one of the world's best in his era, four decades ago. Activist (talk) 06:02, 25 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Activist: very limited online resources are available, but still i managed to sum up the article as much as possible. For now thats what it looks Shivnath Singh, but i am gathering more information and datas, if i find appropriate, i will surely add more but it think its bettern than before. Thank you. It's much better than before. Activist (talk) 23:49, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CVUA[edit]

Hi - thanks for enrolling in the CVU Academy! When you are ready to begin your training, please go to your training page, read through the introduction, and address the first point about Twinkle. I'm looking forward to working with you. Cheers GirthSummit (blether) 13:33, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Girth Summit: I am new to wikipedia tool use and those using "twinkle" or "stiki"...so you may face problem in making me understand different things here, but I am sure you will bear with me and I am going through the training page now. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 13:46, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No worries - we've all got to start somewhere. Twinkle is fairly straightforward, we'll start with that before getting into Stiki or any of the other tools. Read through the instructions at the link I gave you carefully, enable it, and then let me know. GirthSummit (blether) 13:48, 20 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

India Women intl stats[edit]

Hi there, I wonder if you could help? I just posted a request at WP:FOOTY about stats for members of the India women's team and I see you are one of the main contributors to that page. Could I ask where you are getting your stats from? I'm trying to verify how many caps Aditi Chauhan has. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 23:28, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Nzd: I am afraid that I may not provide you any source, as hardly any reliable source available and as whatever I have provided in the national team article is simply by counting matches played and updating after every match, rather than directly providing from sources and I hardly update any caps in infobox of any woman footballer article for this reason. But still as you addressed this issue, I will surely look into the caps of the player and will verify with available sources and will confirm it and will give all sources available to u, but it may need 2-3 days, so be patience. Thanks Dey subrata (talk) 00:49, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Don't go to too much effort on my account though Nzd (talk) 01:58, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nzd: Visited ur account first to confirm nature of editor, to see if the editor is friendly or with some attitute which often encounter here. Secondly, no doubt, u r with much experience, thats why going through ur account, 3rdly, to find out why exactly u r asking bout caps n goal, because I needed someone to work with me here on the same for women players of India, their caps n goals stats, n also to work on other reference article for the national team. So, I think I have lot of reasons . Thanks Dey subrata (talk) 09:17, 2 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I've just sent the AIFF an e-mail asking whether they had any plans to release international appearance and goal data for their women players. We'll see if they come back with anything. Just to clarify, when I said "on my account", I meant "on my behalf". That may be a colloquial expression, so apologies for any misunderstanding. I'd be happy to help with anything (time and resources permitting). Feel free to drop me a note any time. Nzd (talk) 14:36, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Nzd: If AIFF does so, then sun will rise in west sorry kidding...but be optimistic, may be they provide you, hope u requested sweetly enough. I never get any reply till today,I mainly work on stats at wiki and rsssf statistian, so always encounter with issues on player stats but never gt any reply or clarification from them and they are bit sloppy about stats on data. But if they provide or reply, please do let me know. and for international matches visit the result page of India women national team where i will start providing more reports where you can find the players played matches. For now I am lil busy so still dnt get time to touch the women caps and goal...but surely will do.

@Cwmhiraeth: Extremely thankful to you, to appreciate the work. I mainly work on Indian sports related articles and specially Indian football. It was just another effort to bring in place many such football related articles and polish the existing ones. Its really encouraging for me when such works are noticed and being appreciated. With that I like to add, I have seen that you are involved significantly in DYK articles, would really appreciate if you leave a comment at my 1st FLC nomination and my 2nd FLC nomination, though I know everything been discussed and supported already but your comment will be valuable to me. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 07:16, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am not really into featured lists, but you could nominate Blue Pilgrims for DYK if wanted to (or I could nominate it for you) as long as you did it promptly. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:23, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Cwmhiraeth: I didn't read the rules and criteria for DYK, let me go through a little first, and I will come back to you. Dey subrata (talk) 13:49, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Cwmhiraeth: Hi, I have seen a lot of technical things there related with DYK, I better watch and learn, it will wise for me if you do it for me. That's best I can say. Dey subrata (talk) 14:05, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I have nominated it at DYK. If you don't like the hooks I proposed, you can add a different one. If you put the nomination template on your watchlist, you will be able to watch the review process and respond if required. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 18:33, 2 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

He has not vandalised the article. I have suggested him what to do. Wait for him to make changes in the article to create a separate section for Crest and color. You can also create a separate section like FC Barcelona#Kits and crest so that you can put the old logo there in case he don't create. It will not be wise to remove old logo totally, it should be in the article but in separate section. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 21:04, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

India's all time record versus other nations[edit]

Hey there, so I recently found a source regarding statistics of Indian football team https://www.11v11.com/teams/india/ Please go through a look and tell me whether this can be considered reliable or not. Also I wanted to ask you about how you find out whether a friendly is official or not.

Ek1607 (talk) 19:27, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ek1607: I used to match with FIFA list but recently they removed all countries FIFA international matches fixtures from their website, in case of India, 1938 tO 2019, but its no more there (I can't find now, chekc if you can or not), so its very difficult from FIFA's side. But I am a member of RSSSF so whenever I encountered to any confusion whether matches are official or unofficial I just ask other RSSSF members from the concerning countries to confirm whether their federation consider it official or not. So you just add the matches, I will check whether the information is correct or not, I have access to some newspaper archives, I will check those also. 11v11 is not so reliable better use indianfootball.de and national-football-teams and Soccerway and add matches from the tournament pages mainly the 90s tournamnet. And anyother sites you can use but counter check. Dey subrata (talk) 22:11, 28 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and why is a poor/incorrect syntax prefered above a correct syntax? Only cause it's more recent? --Sb008 (talk) 23:06, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Sb008: "....poor/incorrect syntax..." is POV. Its about consensus, if you feel you don't agree, you must bring discuss it at WP:FOOTY. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 23:12, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

POV? A bullet list is defined. Is a bullet list shown? No!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's no view but fact!!!!!!!!! And in which discussion was this consensus established? --Sb008 (talk) 23:20, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Sb008: As I have advised you to visit WP:FOOTY, if you had, you would already been encountered with Template:Football box. What I said, is nobody agreeing with your concept, if you don't agree you must bring a consensus. Secondly, when its used in footballbox, its not used for bulleted list. Anyway, check the template and also the talk page, so that you may find more other info. Thank you. Dey subrata (talk) 23:34, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019–20 I-League[edit]

As per the official FB page of the East Bengal FC, an announcement was done for home stadium change. Its the verified fb page of the club, and the post has a stamp on it. So, its 100% correct and not questionable source. Its not just a simple post from any unofficial handle, or anything like that. Official page, along with club stamp on it. It doesnt violate the 2nd point of WP:FACEBOOK. Also it seems like you are a Mohunbagan supporter, thats why you didnt revert kalyani as mohunbagan's home stadium, although there is no official info regarding that.  S A H 19:23, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Arnabsaha2212 See if you false accuse here, you will end up loosing all your privelege. I am neither a Mohun Bagan fan nor a East Bengal fan. So stop your bull shit here now and forever. First subject of the article is I-League, and the primary source of the article is I-League website. Secondly, "....with club stamp...." whta do you mean by this, stamp??? are you kidding. Thirdly, read the second point carefully, you can't ignore first point to justify the second point, where its written "...regular website is strongly preferred...", and the second point says.. ".. self-published, primary source, but only if it can be authenticated as belonging to the subject....". Not a single point has any strong backing to your justification. And if your are in wikipedia try to learn patience, we work keeping patience. So keep patience, once I-League update the same, we can add it in the article. Dey subrata (talk) 19:41, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Arnabsaha2212 Missed a point, the stadiums are included according to the latest I-League fixtures, so if I-League update the fixtures or any kind of press release (not by club ) you can add the same there. There is also a big concern of WP:ELNO#EL6. I hope you gt it. Dey subrata (talk) 19:55, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dey subrata: I didnt accuse u regarding anything. And I am not enjoying any privilege in wikipedia. If u r talking regarding my userright, then, I want to say, I contributed here, I applied, and I earned. I-league fixtures arent officially out yet. Here their website. Neither any confirmation came from I-League regarding stadium change of Mohun Bagan, but stull it says Kalyani, and u didnt revert it. talking about patience and all, u started being arrogant in the edit summary. I didnt. so, u lost patience. check ur fault first. u wrote demeaning stuffs to me. i didnt.
Now, coming to the point of FB as source, As a reliable source:  Sometimes. The official page of a subject may be used as a self-published, primary source, but only if it can be authenticated as belonging to the subject. The link I used is from the official page, so it can be used as primary source. And yes, it belongs to the subject. just read it. its regarding the stadium, thats why i used it in stadium section of the article, and not as the source for any other info, or any other club.  S A H 09:04, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Arnabsaha2212 First you denied, accusing me a fan of certain things, which I have no interest of becoming one, secondly again accusing me of arrogant, where did I show arrogance?? Do you have any idea what arrogance mean, to show you rules and policies become arrogance??? I am not loosing any patience, if it was I would not have able to edit for last 2 years, and improved many sport related articles and specially I ndian football. Wikipedia is not news channel or a blog, you must that, a reliable source which should be a primary source in this case is the most important thing. The stadiums are included according to the press release of I-League of fixtures And absolutely its not a primary source, and fb never. Because club have its website. I give you 4 reasons and if you fail to understand what is a primary source then you are a subject to lack of Competence, I can't help you in it. Dey subrata (talk) 10:38, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dey subrata: I didnt accuse u of being MB fan. I assumed. if assumption = accusition, i cant help. and i know, u r a bigger and experienced wikipedian than me, dont show-off what u did in past years. but as per WP:FACEBOOK, official pages can be used as a primary source. why r u denying this? its clearly mentioned sometimes it can be, and in this case, if a blueticked, verified, official page. but saying never. idk why... and also, there's no press-release by aiff or i-league, regarding match and fixtures.  S A H 12:18, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Arnabsaha2212: Yes you accused the moment you expressed your personal thinking what it seems or not. Don't spit out what you think personally or what it seems to you, keep it to yourself. Because I have no interest of knowing what you think, thats a accusition out of presumption. I have given the reasons very clearly in my first reply, where make "bold" word to bring your attention and secondly I brought to your notice the fb, twitter have very big concern of WP:ELNO#EL6, which should be avoided. Our first aim should be creating an article to be as FA or FL or near, where such links should be avoided. I am not showing off but I know things and experienced and thats why adviSing you. I don't want you loose your privileges for foolish edits. I was also at your position in the begining, but with time I understand the need of reliable links, you too will understand with time. There is no hurry to put stadiums now...let the I-League announce it. Wait for it. If you continue any more reverts (WP:3RR) , I am afraid you really will be in difficult position. No more words, enough of it, you are arguing same again and again, comes under lack of Competence and is trying to be WP:POINTy. Don't disturb again, wait for the official annoucement. Dey subrata (talk) 12:48, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
* Arnabsaha2212 And I have not said fb can't be source, but we are talking about primary source, when the subject is I-league (MB official stadium in MB stadium at maidan, and same as East Bengal). I-League will decide where they will play not club. So primary source, i.e. match schedule anf any official announcement by I-League, and secondly, if thats not possible then it must be Club websites, skipping those 2 you are adding fb as source is utterly bogus. Dey subrata (talk) 13:11, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dey subrata: ok. fb is not reliable, even when its from official page, official release from the club. if its so, there's no official notification from aiff/i-league regarding the stadiums and locations. so, it applies for other teams too. right?  S A H 15:13, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever, leave. Official fixtures are out! S A H 15:42, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2019-20 I Legaue[edit]

I dont know, why u removed positions by round. its a good source of info to track any teams' points table rank history. its not irrelevant, or wrong, or unsourced, that u removed it. u will find positions by round table in european leagues. also, the home attendance table, u removed it for no reason. there already a template for that Template:Fb a header. i used it. u will find similar table in La liga and it also provides the change in attendace from previous season. thus u get an additional info.  S A H 17:44, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Arnabsaha2212 It does not give a relevant statistics. Secondly giving example of other article is not a good idea, by that one can say it has not been used in EPL, Bundesliga, Serie A, Primeira. The most important thing is for last 10 years season, it was not been used and suddenly why the requirement of such statistics which is of no use in coming years, when both the leagues will be merged. So for consistency its better not to use here. Its not used in ISL too. Dey subrata (talk) 18:56, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Dey subrata: kindly mention regarding which table u r talking. is it position table or attendance table. I gave the example because these are the top leagues in the world. and these aren't in isl, so what? isl isn't any special league or world famous league. also, I can't make tables for 2 leagues instantly. most of the leagues show position by round. it provides information regarding the whole league and any team's performance at a glance. untill and unless it's not wrong, I have no idea, why u reomved it. and 10 years for attendance, ok, slowly I will make them. it takes time. the article isn't urs, that u will remove information for no relevant reason.  S A H 19:59, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Arnabsaha2212 So, you got only ISL, I have given example of other established leagues. First with La Liga, 20 teams play 380 matches, and each round 15 to 20 matches were played and for such huge number of matches such statistics are relevant may be. But here scenerio is different, only 11 teams playing, in whole one team plays 20 matches. Its wierd to put such stats here. Absolutely no need of such stats. If you think I am wrong and these statistics are important to put, then bring a consensus. Dey subrata (talk) 20:32, 1 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And one important thing, I don't think I League follows any round system as it can't, for round, you need even number of teams. Here 11 teams are playing. In no way its possible, some team will end up playing more matches than other.
@Dey subrata: i didnt bring isl. u took the example of isl. i league has rounds. see this if not rounds, weeks can be taken into account. it doesnt matter how many teams play, a league is a league. my additions are verified, not any original research, doesnt violate any rule, and its correct. whereas u didnt provide any explanation for the revert. as per u, there are only 11 teams in i league, so the whole article is irrelevant, non-sense. remove the article. in la liga, topscorer has 30-35 goals, but in ileague isnt, so thats also irrelevant. everything is irrelevant.  S A H 08:38, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Arnabsaha2212This is what wrong with this generation, don't understand the difference between facts and opinion. Grow up, opinion is not fact. You said, "...remove the article. in la liga, topscorer has 30-35 goals, but in ileague isnt, so thats also irrelevant. everything is irrelevant." Nothing is irrelevant with Laliga. It can't be removed because its fact, it can be backed by sources and citation, La liga has round system where each team plays equal number of matches to show leader, what you are saying is opinion, I League can't have league system. The link that you added is neither of I-League and nor of Aiff and more than that its a facebook material. Don't just blow anything out to justify. I told you if you think I am wrong you are free to bring a consensus. Dey subrata (talk) 11:30, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Secondly, you are throwing your opinion on me, "remove the article..this and that", if you want to remove that from La Liga, you remove, why should I, I don't have any problem with that. But I have problem with it if added in I League as its not the same scenerio. Dey subrata (talk) 11:35, 2 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And also, before saying I didn't give explanation, you must go through the history, I ahve removed this several times as given enough explanation and asked for explanation of adding it, but same has been done. Many Ips have added this several times, perhaps its you, as seems from your explantion. Because as soon as I bring page protection, from IPs, its you who added and adament to keep it. 2019-20 Indian Super League Season[edit]

Hello, I am Kshitij.agr. I had recently edited the page 2019-20 Indian Super League season's League Table. You had insisted me to discuss the issues related to it on it's Talk Page. But there is no talk page for that article. So how can I discuss my editings related to that article? Please reply me on my talk page mentioned above.

Kshitij.agr, every article has a talk page attached with. For this article here. By the way I don't think anything remains to discuss, as I have already told you, its not yet decided by AFC, it will be announced next year after the AFC ranking announcement. India will get the group stage slot if only India be ranked within 10 in westzone. Dey subrata (talk) 12:42, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

About isl afc slot[edit]

Aiff clarifies that isl table toppers will get into acl group stages And isl runners up will get afc cup group stage slot So u know more than aiff😂 And u assumes that india will lose more than 5 points this year so they will be on 11th spot next year so they will get playoff slot wah😂👌 Good assumptions Abhishe78 (talk) 17:41, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Abhishe78 This is an encyclopedia, not a website, where you will update anything and everything. Here only facts to be updated. And don't write anything, if you don't have any citations to back your arguments. Aiff has never given such a statement, so don't make fool out of yourself. Secondly, its not upto AIFF what they think, its upto AFC, when and only when AFC annouce anything, then only update. Its as simple as that. So stop roaming around doing disruptive editing, better do constructive editing. You can do much better editing than this. Dey subrata (talk) 12:27, 26 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summary[edit]

[1].

Also please explain your edits in WP:EDITSUMMARY you are making too many changes and many controversial without explaining. For example, Tushar Gandhi [2] and Rahul Gandhi should not have been removed IMHO, discuss on talk. If you feel like. --Happy New Year! ᗙ DBigXray 22:15, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DBigXray Sorry I did not see your removal. One of the user added unconstructive materials like in the case of International sections and also in slogan section, so I was restored the articles part by part. Dey subrata (talk) 22:18, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reverting. please be careful with edit summaries. They also help to understand if you make some unintended edits by mistake, you dont need to explain in detial but add enough comments on what you are doing. A line or 2 at max is enough. If you need to make an edit summary more than 2 lines, then wait and first make a thread on the talk page and then seek consensus. --Happy New Year! ᗙ DBigXray 22:25, 31 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Restore EU reactions[edit]

Please restore reactions from the European Union which has deleted from CAA protest article, this is link from India Today

First, let me clear one thing, if you have any suggestion, you must open discussion at the article talk page. Secondly, in this case they neither applaud nor condemn. So there is no reaction at all, it only suggest they are keep an eye. Perhaps thats why removed if added earlier. This article is for CAB-CAA-NRC, no reaction about India Pakistan relation or any other topic to be added here. If I find any citation that suggest otherwise about EU or any European countries I will surely add. Dey subrata (talk) 02:33, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tools[edit]

Please enable wP:TWINKLE and Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups, they are very helpful. Also Fyi User:DiplomatTesterMan--DBigXray 19:35, 10 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Same here, TW enabled before and Navigation popups just now. I had to disable "Reference Tooltips" which I had enabled since it says - "does not work if "Navigation popups" is enabled above". DTM (talk) 05:15, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This is a really nice gadget too - xTools (XTools: dynamically show statistics about a page's history under the page heading) under Appearance. DTM (talk) 11:15, 11 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Have that before. Dey subrata (talk) 15:17, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed to expand[edit]

@Dey subrata: Please see if you can help to expland and format this - Shaheen Bagh protests DTM (talk) 07:01, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DBigXray: pinging DBX, you have worked on the CAA protest article a lot so bringing your attention to this article too. DTM (talk) 07:30, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure DiplomatTesterMan, I was just going to propose such article but, its nice to see you already created it. As you are a photgraph, it will be nice if you bring out the different kind of protest going on in Shaheen Bagh, like reading and preaching different holy books together by different people of different religion sitting together, writing down Hum Dekhenge in paper boats, India gate miniatue, and many more. Dey subrata (talk) 14:25, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan and DBigXray, I think the Shaheen Bagh protest need a separate and summarised sub-section under "Delhi" section in the "Protest" heading. Dey subrata (talk) 15:16, 13 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, a sub-section in the main protest article makes sense. And you said "as you are a photographer"... I technically take really bad photographs and I havent adjusted to my smartphone as yet. Pushing it, amatuer photography maybe. (Mostly, the photos support the article, not the other way round). DTM (talk) 15:18, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats DTM, Your article on Shaheen Bagh was talked about briefly in NDTV India channel today at 7 PM. As for photography, You have been taking really good pics. Other than changing the Camera aspect ratio to 4:3. I will suggest you to briefly take a look at the corners of the frame and see if something is photobombing the pic, if something is coming in the frame, consider shifting your position to fix it. Finally take as many pics as possible, Assume that 90% pics will be bad. And discard the bad ones when you are back home. --DBigXray 13:51, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DiplomatTesterMan Does not matter bad or good, I am also adding few pics to show case different kind of protest, which is presently missing from the article. And I ahve noticed some users are trying their best to delete your pics from wikipedia using different laws, please read the copyright laws, it will help you to reply them in the deletion discussion. Dey subrata (talk) 14:14, 16 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DBX, Oh wow, how many seconds a mention was it? 2 sec....5sec.....10 plus?
DS, Looking forward seeing the photographs! And regarding the deletion, yes I did notice that too. Till now I haven't really replied to anyone once they want to delete a photograph. Most of the ones deleted this time were deleted for being "derivative" or "adequate permission" not shown and the logic of that sounds correct. This related to when I was taking close-up of posters. However, many of the photographs remain. But yes, I should read all the guidelines, policies and laws related to the same properly. DTM (talk) 07:46, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, sorry I've removed some pics from the article, added three picture, hope there is no issue. I may add 1 or 2 more while adding new sections. Dey subrata (talk) 07:31, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dey subrata, no worries or issues at all. It is always nicer when pictures come from more than one source. Every person would have there own style and way of capturing what they think is important; this adds depth to the article. And by the way, the article is within the DYK period in case you want to nominate it. DTM (talk) 08:51, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And that tank pic is really nice. I didn't know the poem was Hum Dekhenge. Adds more meaning knowing that. DTM (talk) 08:54, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, good idea, better you must do it, after all you created the article. Dey subrata (talk) 08:56, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, [3] this is one of the most popular mobile photography tutorial in sessions. this one is a good free tutorial on Landscape and travel photography. cheers. DBigXray 16:12, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, 5 second. They said the shaheen bagh protest have gained prominence and even a Wikipedia page for shaheen bagh protest have come up DBigXray 23:55, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DBigXray Ok, that sounds like a reasonable mention. Lucky NDTV was on at the time! I'm sure in the future these news channels would have a better system for retrieving their video content. And after you had mentioned this to me and the banner at the protest I did a google search - "The agitation has now caught people's imagination - it has its own Wikipedia page". (India Today) and on typing in twitter the keywords "shaheen bagh wikipedia" quite a few have shared it! Not bad! DTM (talk) 07:18, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, and Dey, check out this video. It was the Featured video on the main page of commons today [4] We have pics some videos will be cool. DBigXray 21:40, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DBigXray Good suggestion, I have to find time for this if I go there. I have one or two but not of good quality, just casually taken. I am more into taking pics. But I will try. DTM if you go you can do it but please mind that, video must not capture anything which may create controversy. ;) :p Dey subrata (talk) 21:46, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dey subrata, I wonder what can cause controversy. Anything that happens there should be fine to record in video. DBigXray 22:03, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DBigXray Well, parts of video, segemted to create controvies in past and going on in present also. Recent case Ravish Kumar not questioning the economic crisis during Congress. Dey subrata (talk) 22:08, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DBigXray, yes, a video is a good idea. Always a good idea. Just need to take out the time. Maybe start with something simple that doesn't take up too much time. DTM (talk) 10:41, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sunil Chettri[edit]

I don't have "limited knowledge of Indian football", nor was I making a "strong claim". The claim about the third player was not in the reference listed. I see you have added a reference, which is all you needed to do. I am free to make changes if I see unsourced claims, I do not need to prove knowledge of Indian football or discuss in the talk page, that's just not how Wikipedia works.Mirza Ahmed (talk) 19:03, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Avman89, well no hard feelings, but you have limited knowledge on Indian football thats for sure from your recent edit, but as you are talking about wiki policies, you must know that the lead need not be provided with citation, redundant citation are better to avoid in lead. I would have no say, if you had done it in the club sections where his international exposure is mentioned. Dey subrata (talk) 19:21, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Once again, it's immaterial how much knowledge I have, and it's not limited in any case. According to Wikipedia policy: "As a general rule of thumb, a lead section should contain no more than four well-composed paragraphs and be carefully sourced as appropriate."Mirza Ahmed (talk) 22:33, 26 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Avman89, well enough, it says, "as appropriate", so we generally avoid citations in the lead. It becomes redundant, and overkill the article. Our ultimate aim is to get an article a FA or GA promotion, where its expected the lead should be a clean read. Citations are often avoided. Best wikipedia articles like Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Vladimir Lenin, Nelson Mandela, gives you how should a FA must look. And Sunil Chhetri's article is B category article. I have not touch it much, but once I start work on it, the lead will surely get rid of the citations. Anyway, I don't question your intention but I always expect people to get engaged. Coming to your edit, why it was not proper, as when your edit is actually a claim, as you changed from third to second, and secondly, you did not provide citation for that also while you have just said, "I am free to make changes if I see unsourced claims....", Is there any citation for your edit? Ans. is no. You are questioning yourself. And secondly, wikipedia works on consensus, that you must know, this is major chage to me as we are talking about an achievment. For such its better to first use the talk page. I hope you are matured enough to understand where you got wrong. Thank you.

This needs some working on if interested[edit]

This is currently in draftspace - Draft:Tukde Tukde Gang - and I think there are enough sources online for it to pass an AFC nom. Just needs a bit of expansion and editing. DTM (talk) 12:55, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

DiplomatTesterMan, I really don't think thats a good idea brother, the concept of tukdetuke gang was coined by BJP and their paid media during the JNU incident. Left never gave such slogan in the campus, videos were proved doctored in Delhi High court. Those people were from outside, and police still failed to arrest. Secondly, Home Minstry says, on RTI reply, there is no tukde tukde gang. Which shows its a part of dirty politics to malign the left party which the BJP always call tukde tukde without any evidence, as they always question the BJP. Just look at Ravi Shankar Prasad, as election is near, they are now calling Shaheen Bagh as tukde tukde gang or urban naxal, deshdrohi, pakistani, God knows what not. Anyone who is against BJP is now a tukde tukde gang. I really don't think its a thing on which articles to be created, next time someone will make page on bhakt, godi media and so so, it will put wikipedia really on wrong track. These are nothing but deragatory remarks and word used for name calling which comes in the lowest level of Graham's hierarchy of disagreement. There are articles but are baseless articles, more than 120 news channel and more than 200 websites are now funded by BJP MPs/leaders or BJP supporting industrialist/businessman. Not a single article will give you a proof of such thing. I am sorry, but this should not be made, its a defaming term and not any physical group. Dey subrata (talk) 15:29, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly, the absence of such a thing in real, the ministry saying such a thing doesn't exist, and that it is just a tool for propaganda, makes it noteworthy. But either way I don't have time to handle it just now. But I think it is worth an attempt. Maybe a section or line in Fake news in India
Dey subrata More importantly, check out the table I started in the Shaheen Bagh protests article - Shaheen_Bagh_protests#Inspiration_for_other_similar_protests. Can u please help expand the table when you have time. Thanks. DTM (talk) 12:35, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
DiplomatTesterMan, Ok we will see that later, if we make it in a constructive way. I have seen the table, need to add one or two other protest, its in good shape already. I will recheck the dates if correct or not. Otherwise seems ok. Dey subrata (talk) 16:57, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Subrata, I rescued the Tukde Tukde Gang page. Please feel free to add your content there, as well as expanding from the listed sources, if you feel like it. I think this page can be made to work! -- Kautilya3 (talk) 16:14, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
