Regarding Mozart's Haffner Symphony...[edit]

Dear Drfcb,

I understand your concern about the mix-up with the origins of the Haffner Symphony. I think its something that causes confusion for everyone.

The Haffner symphony originated from a serenade (K250) which was presented at the enoblement of Sigmund Haffner. It is NOT from the serenade that was used as background music for the wedding of Sigmund's sister Elisabeth Haffner. I think this is where most people (including myself at first) get confused.

Between User:DavidRF and myself, we are in the process of completing a full article on the Haffner Symphony - it also gives details about which of these two serenades the Haffner symphony is derived from.

Best wishes.--~~from a musician's perspective~~ 13:15, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
