TODAY I WAS BLOCKED by Ryulong[edit]

Usualy i will say that it's unfair what is happening, about my blocking... and why??? because i worked a lot to make with good faith an article for Wikipedia about a band that i only like their music and i'll say again that i believe this band is notable and reliable and as you or others saw in the time when the article was up, had many reasons and notable references to stay up conform Wikipedia:Notability (music) - "Criteria for musicians and ensembles". But i think some people forgot those Criteria... And because some people from here says that i'm "one of the members of this band", which it's NOT true, i'll tell them that i'm honoured that my staying here on Wikipedia made others believe that i'm an artist:) Anyway, this decision disappointed me and almost let me without words... even blocked me :)) (indeed)... and made me believe that Wikipedia became a place where some people thinks that they are gods and can stop, close, shut away, block others just like that! In the end i'll say that it doesn't matter if it's unfair or not, only that I'm really sorry because i spend some time here trying to make with good faith something notable and readable for others. {{helpme}} Why did someone deleted article KORD (band)?

As ClanCC said below, it was deleted under CSD G4: it was a copy of material previously deleted following this discussion. Algebraist 11:19, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

{{helpme}} Hello to everyone and to those who can try to help me to resolve a problem: I would like to add a picture to an article KORD (band), but the picture that i want to add is taken from an official website of a band (named Kord), where this pic that i want to add is a free-Wallpaper. So, if i resized the pic, then can i upload on wikipedia the pic and add to an article which is about that band (Kord) ? And there's someone who can help me to add this pic to article KORD (band). Many thanks Drokstef (talk) 00:26, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article for this band was not deleted, just moved/redirect.

A tag has been placed on KORD from Romania, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wallpaper KORD.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wallpaper KORD.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. AfD nomination of Kord (band)[edit]

I have nominated Kord (band), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kord (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 00:52, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't remove the AfD tags or blank the Articles for Deletion page. This will not prevent the article from being deleted; I'd recommend you read Wikipedia's notability policy to see why I believe the article should be deleted. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 01:03, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Stefan Corbu. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. ~EnviroboyTalkContribs - 01:08, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) In response to [1]: I did to a Google search prior to nominating it for deletion, and I didn't find any evidence of notability. Feel free to participate in the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kord (band), where you can explain why you feel the band is notable enough for inclusion in Wikipedia. Pyrospirit (talk · contribs) 01:12, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Kord (band). Doing so won't stop the discussion from taking place. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the appropriate page. Thank you. Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Wrong aplication![edit]

hi, You're still trying to delete some articles which are very notable (without searching for reliable sources) and this articles are containing some important criteria for musicians like: they had a charted hit on a national music chart (RT100) and if you search about RT100, you'll se that it's a reliable source; and then, this band (Kord) contains at least one member who was once a part of a band that is otherwise notable (Nicoleta Alexandru); and then, they had been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network (SRR - Radio România Actualităţi); and then, they had been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network, like : RadioTotal which had them in their top too, and few weeks ago they were invited on Romantica (Romanian TV Channel) in a tv-show named Teoviziunea, where they launch the new video of a single named Viseaza. You don't think that this are reliable source and notable? Please contact all those named sources and find that i'm NOT a crazy editor which is writing some aberrations. Everything that i write you it's TRUE and because of that i think that both article are notable. Thanks for reading this and hope you'll STOP to suggest both articles for "Article for deletion". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.36.80.198 (talk) 00:55, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop removing the AfD tags[edit]

Please stop removing the AfD tags from Kord (band) and Stefan Corbu. As I've said before, it won't stop the deletion discussion, and it does nothing but make it harder for people to assume good faith of your edits. Consider editing productively instead of pointlessly fighting over the same topic, please. There's plenty of other articles to work on. Hi Drokstef.

I am trying to respond to your helpme tag as you palced at User_talk:Accounting4Taste#About_the_article_that_i_recreated.

You will see my response there. Basically I have contacted the admin that approved of he delete at the Article For Deletion discussion. This is in compliance with Wikipedia's policy on deletion: Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#Deletion_review. You can read there for more information on what to do. If the admin (Kurykh) fails to supply good reason as to why your bands is not notable enough for inclussion, we will then move on to Deletion Review where more admins will be able to give their opinion.

I would like to remind you about how deletions work on Wikipedia, but I think you now understand. Basically we cannot have an article on everything in Wikipedia. Nor can we have an article for every band that is formed. Instead we limit articles to only things that are notable, and this notability must also be verifiable. There is a guideline on bands here: Wikipedia:MUS. You should read through this list to see if your band has done any of those things that would make them notable according to Wikipedia. So far it seems that they had a hit on a national chart (Romanian top 100) as you have linked. See if you can find anything more that makes them notable.

Good luck, and we'll see what happens Rfwoolf (talk) 15:46, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At the request of Rfwoolf, I've made a sandbox page for you at User:Drokstef/Sandbox which contains the material that was deleted from the most recent version of the article about Kord (band). I recognize that you've been having some problems here, not entirely of your own making, and I want to help you if I can. I think Rfwoolf may also help you take this article to deletion review. Based on what I've seen, I think this band is sufficiently notable for a Wikipedia article. However, because of the history, it's liable to be deleted immediately if you re-post it without going through deletion review. What I ask is that you try to get consensus as to the right course of action, and assume good faith on the part of all concerned. I believe that the outcome that everyone wants is that Wikipedia gets another article about a notable topic. I think it will be much more likely that the article will go up and stay up if you try to work with everyone cooperatively, and I surely hope that everyone will try to work with you cooperatively. I'm sorry that you seem to have had a difficult time here, and I hope your future experience will be more pleasant. If there's something further I can do to be assistance, leave a note on my talk page, but there is no need to use the (helpme) tag there; I'll see the note and help you if I can. Accounting4Taste:talk 18:50, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Accounting4Taste. I have gone through your sandbox to try and fix up the article. There's more work to do. Please look at its TalkPage to see how we can get this article ready. Rfwoolf (talk) 09:25, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note: I have replied on my talk page, and suggest that it would be appropriate to have a conversation there. Accounting4Taste:talk 02:25, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:KORD-image.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:KORD-image.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 12 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed?[edit]

I see you have requested help with Wikipedia's copyright rules and terms. I'll gladly help with whatever you need. If you are in need of assistance, just contact me on my talk page. I'll gladly help with whatever I can. --Jordan Contribs 17:03, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The problem with your image is that it is not used in any article. You must have a detailed fair use rationale for the image. I can show you how if you need. Also, if the image is not used in any articles, it will be deleted. An unused image is called an orphaned image. You'l need to place the image in an article to avoid deletion. Hope this solves some of your problems. If you need any more, just contact me. Jordan Contribs 18:26, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The problem here is that the image you want to use is using a free-use rationale, and is not used in any mainspace articles. Your sandbox page is a user page. The image has to be used in an actual article. Though you had the best intentions, according to Wikipedia copyright policy, your image must be used in an article, or it will be deleted. You will need to place the image in the intended article to avoid this. Jordan Contribs 08:38, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I looked at the history of the article in the sandbox page, and you had not edited it since October 6, 2008. I don't know if there is any official policy, but my rule of thumb for how long someone should have with a sandbox page to work on an article is about a month, and you hadn't touched it in four months. I have to agree with the administrator who deleted it, it seemed, and seems, as though you were using that as a place to put the article where people could see it, and you were using what we call "userspace" to do that. Userspace is not meant for that; it's meant as a place to work (see WP:NOT#WEBHOST, as was recommended in the edit summary of the deletion). I'm prepared to restore the material to the sandbox page, but you must move forward with it -- either take the article to WP:Deletion review, or let it take its chances in the body of the encyclopedia within 30 days, or I'll come and delete it myself. You don't seem to be making any useful contributions to the sum of human knowledge here, and you're running out of room. You will find the deleted material on the same sandbox page where it once was, and I have made a note on my calendar for March 14. Please use the time, and space, wisely. Accounting4Taste:talk 01:46, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Essentially, Drokstef, you are here only to promote your band. WP:VAIN applies. You want MySpace, not Wikipedia. Guy (Help!) 14:14, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Upon reconsideration, I have to agree with this editor's point. It's deleted, and I won't restore it. Accounting4Taste:talk 22:27, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Because your only activities on this website have been attempting to get coverage for some non-notable band, as well as your lack of edits to any article page for exactly one year, you have been indefinitely blocked from editing Wikipedia. Unless you can prove to any administrator that you should be unblocked and that you will contribute to Wikipedia in a way that is in no way related to the band "KORD", this block will remain in place.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 21:44, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wish to comment on this block as I have been involved with this user when he posted a HelpMe tag several months ago to create an article about his band. I will respect your decision to block him, however it must be communicated that I have good faith in this user and your block seems a little bit heavy-handed and doesn't assume good faith (has he done anything malicious?) -- I don't believe people should be blocked simply because they are only interested in 1 article -- so long as he is well behaved, civil, etc he should be entitled to keep his account (thousands of wikipedians may choose to spend their lives on here editing numerous articles, he shouldn't be punished because he doesn't share the same enthusiasm). You must understand that I am not challenging this block, but should the user request an unblock, you do have my comments to add credence to some of his claims. And to you, Drokstef, we have counselled you on the notability problems of your article -- the deletion of the article (albeit without warning) is not entirely unjustified, the block on the other hand seems controversial. Cheers Rfwoolf (talk) 21:33, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
