Editing Competitive Smash Articles[edit]

As a smasher, I've much approved of the information you added, but I would recommend spinning it off to individual articles such as GENESIS (tournament series), The Big House (tournament series), Super Smash Con, and maybe CEO based on the sources I've found these are notable tournaments and pass GNG guidelines. The issue with the current state of Professional Super Smash Bros. competition is that it is more informative than even the smash Wiki, it's the information I'm looking for as I've been involved with the community for over a decade, but haven't been active since 2010, however for the average viewer it may be overload. Also the following smashers are notable Plup, aMSa, Weston Dennis, and PewPewU go ahead and create those articles if you like I'll help you edit. Valoem talk contrib 15:20, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Valoem: I don't know about you, but I personally don't think it's too much information. If this were SSBWiki, then I would add techniques such as wavedashing, techs, or dash dancing. If you look at it, I'm only adding general rulesets, player rankings, and tournament results; in essence, I only added on from when I first discovered the page. I've read your edits, but I think you deleting the "unnecessary detail" is important to understanding the status of competitive Smash. If you just post tournament results, then it's going to be a boring read. However, I might go on with your idea of creating tournament pages. Super Smash Con isn't ready for it yet (there's only been one installment) and Paragon (two installments). For CEO, I'm not too familiar with other fighting games, so I don't feel obligated to create a page on that. GENESIS and The Big House already have pages. I think B.E.A.S.T. is the only one left. However, I'll still update the main competitive Smash page. As for player pages, I don't think I'll create them, mainly because I don't think I'll have too much information about them, so I don't think it's worth,
Agreed, btw after you leave a message put ~~~~ it leaves your signuture so I know who left the message without going to the history. Valoem talk contrib 15:29, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also, do you have any sources for this IVGF NorthWest Regionals tournament? Valoem talk contrib 15:44, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the Team Liqiuid page on the event. Also, here's a snapshot from the event's website. Drwoo217 (talk) 01:40, 21 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Smash 4 rankings[edit]

I'm asking here due to how active you are on the page. Currently on the Professional Super Smash Bros. competition article, the rankings for Smash 4 are smash.gg rankings. Wouldn't it be better to use the Panda Global Rankings? smash.gg itself has even started supporting it: https://smash.gg/rankings/wii-u/series/panda-global-rankings-2. ItsIzumi (talk) 04:23, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@ItsIzumi: That's actually a really good idea. I don't have the time today, but I will definitely start tomorrow. If you want to do it, then go right ahead Drwoo217 (talk) 04:32, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'll get started on it now. ItsIzumi (talk) 05:36, 23 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

CS/Liquipedia[edit]

Hi Drwoo217 -

I noticed that you are a frequent editor of CS:GO wikipedia pages, and that Liquipedia is often used as a source on these pages. I am wondering if you would be interested in contributing to Liquipedia itself? - Tolkienfanatic20 (talk) 20:08, 14 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Tolkienfanatic20: Maybe. I might pop in once in a while for edits and such. I'll consider it – Drwoo217 (talk) 23:52, 18 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve ELEAGUE Major 2017[edit]

Hi, I'm DrStrauss. Drwoo217, thanks for creating ELEAGUE Major 2017!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi, I've reviewed your article! Just a couple of things - the finals section could do with some references and all of the existing references need converting from bare URLs. Thanks!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Disambiguation link notification for March 7[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited ESL Pro League Season 7, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Australis (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:13, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Intel Extreme Masters Season XII – Oakland a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.
