Please write articles, not resumes or advertisements[edit]

Hello! I see above you are affiliated with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. Thus, your writing about the institution, or anyone affiliated with it whom you might know (professionally or personally) must be handled with care, to avoid the appearance of promotion or advertising. In other words, you may have a conflict of interest in writing neutral encyclopedia articles. Please see WP:Conflict of interest, which suggests you should not write about your company, colleagues, family, yourself, etc. The article Atul Kumar (ophthalmologist), for instance, looks almost exactly like a resume or CV. That may be good on LinkedIn, but is inappropriate for an encyclopedia. Articles should generally be written in prose, not lists, and be predominantly based on secondary, third-party sources, rather than affiliated sources or the subject's own work, to better ensure a neutral tone and presentation. Having sections titled "Academic and leadership positions" and "Awards and honors" is likely uncalled for (as would similar negative sections "Controversies", "Criticisms", or "Failures"): our policy on WP:Biographies of living persons explains how biographical articles should be written fairly, neutrally, and conscientiously. Similarly, your article All India Ophthalmological Society appears solely intended to increase publicity of the society. Articles should focus primarily on what a subject is known for rather than what the subject does, or trivial things like internal organization. A neutral article presents facts in proportion to their coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject itself, in accordance with neutral point of view policy. If an article contains the same information one might find on an official website, it might be overly promotional or otherwise unencyclopedic. And yes, I know there are hundreds if not thousands of articles on living academics that are poorly written, resume-like, or otherwise promotional, but that is not a good reason to perpetuate the practice. I have no intention of writing advertisements, there is webspace enoough for that. Remeber, this is one of my first articles. Language may be edited to change to prose from listed items. But do your research Padma Shri is India's fourth highest civilian award and I observed that the page of Padma Shri Awardee pointed to some other individual sharing the name with this person this article talks upon and was leading to lot of confusion and for once it almost looked like the other person is an awardee. So, writing on a person of national eminence I believe should not amount to an advertisement. The format I shall be more careful about and will make an edit. Like cleared above I am not related to the person. WP:Conflict of interest would amount if I write about myself, family, friends, clients, employers, or your financial and other relationships. This is not true in the case of this page. The person is genuinely notable. I am not questioning the notability of your topics, merely recommending that care should be taken to maintain a neutral, formal, impersonal, and dispassionate tone, free from puffery.
