Hi![edit]

Good to see you! I'm doing some final summer cleaning—great for boosting my edit count. Glad that some India FA people are still around ... My warm regards. Saravask 19:15, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I tell you, that guy Fowler&fowler (talk · contribs) doesn't get half the credit he deserves. The India page was in a very bad way before he rebuilt it—I've been checking it occasionally.
Alas, there have been far too many talentless, time-wasting boobs who've fettered his work over the years, people who couldn't be bothered to write grammatical, engaging, FA-class copy. I wonder how much more higher-quality stuff we'd have (and how much less useless talk-page tripe) if they bothered to become as editorially capable as him.
Screed over. See you around. Saravask 23:31, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Shayan Munshi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ANYBIO and WP:ENT.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A new medical resource[edit]

Please note that there is a new freely accessible medical resource, MedMerits (to which I'm a medical advisor) on neurologic disorders. A discussion on ELs to MedMerits and medical ELs in general is currently in progress ("Wikipedia and its relationship to the outside world"). I'm posting this to your page because you indicated an interest in neurology. Presto54 (talk) 16:21, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Facultymarch.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Facultymarch.JPG, which you've sourced to http://medicos-strike.wikispaces.com/protest+pics. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:30, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Save Kolkata from becoming a Former FA[edit]

Hi Dwaipayan,

This is to bring to your notice that the Kolkata article is currently in shambles; far from being a FA. A recent post in the discussion came to my notice that it might be put into FAR. Kindly collaborate to improve the article and bring it to its former glory. Amartyabag TALK2ME 15:17, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Kolkata[edit]

I have nominated Kolkata for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.)--- Jayanta Nath (Talk|Contrb) 04:13, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I got this excellent report on Kolkata by Town and Country Planning, Ministry of Urban Development, GoI. This can be of immense help in giving citation. All the best. http://tcpomud.gov.in/Divisions/IEP/Study.html Amartyabag TALK2ME 05:12, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Kolkatanandan.jpg needs authorship information[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Kolkatanandan.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|Dwaipayanc/Archive 51}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:56, 3 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Revival of COTM[edit]

Hi,

You may be aware that Collaboration of the Month has been revived by members of WP: India. For January 2012 there are 2 articles - Indian COTM - Premchand and Indian COTM for GA - Mahatma Gandhi. As a senior and respected editor you are requested to partake in this activity. Cheers, Around The Globeसत्यमेव जयते 14:23, 12 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Talkback[edit]

Actually I am currently staying in Bhubaneswar for my higher studies, so it is not possible to attend the Wikimeets in Kolkata. Regarding data related to Slums, economy, poverty, etc., we can use the available data currently, though it may be dated in some way. The current census (2011) has only released provisional data, the whole data will take more time to be available in public. Till then, we can fill it with the available data. Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Kolkata, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Gobindapur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:27, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re:West Bengal[edit]

Hello. I would love to join you in editing the West Bengal article (I am a Bengali, actually). Though mind you, I'm a film editor so I won't be able to help out with Geography-related WP policies. I'll do the best I can (and there'a a lot to be done). Haven't you tried the participants list in Wikipedia:WikiProject India? I'm sure some of them would be interested in the article as well.

A small personal suggestion: your talk page could do with archiving. Its really huge. Thanks for the notification.

Re:BOI[edit]

Ah, its a very long story involving a hell of a lot of problems, but yes, for Hindi Indian BO figures, BOI is the most reliable and also the most quoted among other reliable sources. There are a select number of editors who worked to downgrade BOI's reliability when the figures from BOI did not match up to their expectations; I suggest you to not heed such editors. Yes, its figures are not freely available and I think some administrators are working on that issue (trying to, at least), but from what I've heard BOI is unwilling to release its content under Wikipedia's licence. That's the reason why the List of highest-grossing Bollywood films has only extracts; the shortened table is not because of unreliability. Hopefully this clears the issue. Regards, ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 07:04, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nicco park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Been here long enough without references; fascinating and interesting, perhaps; may even exist but no way we can know

Hey friend[edit]

It's great to see you more active these days. How've you been? The last article I worked on is Dimple Kapadia, what do you think? I started a peer review on it, hoping to take it a few levels ahead. ShahidTalk2me 21:46, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm fine, thank you. Great work, I hope everything settles. I am active but not as much as Blofeld. I'm kept a bit busy these days in real life but still trying to do something substantial with the little time I have. So Dimple Kapadia is the product of that, I guess. At first I just visited the article and planned to make a few changes to improve it a bit, and I don't know why, but I kept going on and on (though with short breaks here and there). Looking for sources was not an easy task, but I like the overall result because you generally cannot get that much for an actress most of whose films came several decades ago.
