hi, yes, i was following the mighty User:SarahStierch, with holdings of archives of american art. about Calvin Albert copyright holder - i don't know, he was faculty at the pratt institute, maybe they have more info. he gave papers to archives, not his estate, so no info there. the problem of orphan works is large. there is the option of "fair use". you could add information without references, but it might get tagged "reference needed". better practice to publish oral history and use that as a source, or external link as primary source material. you could also leave a note on the article talk page.
btw, you may be interested in Wikipedia:GLAM/US - galleries, libraries, archives, museums: lot's of action, a little glamcamp this week, if you have more questions, please let me know i will raise there among the cognoscenti.
also thank you very much for medicine man, which i incorporated in The Medicine Man (Dallin). Slowking4 †@1₭ 16:04, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
about the date of death - i looked at the references, and quick search doesn't show where i got that. i suspect that i got it from the "fineartamerica" link which is now dead, website not good reference, hence i put it in external links. Slowking4 †@1₭ 17:14, 6 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Slowking4 -- thanks for all the suggestions and for the comment on our copyright page (response to that on its way). Do know some of the GLAM folks and met more at Museum Computer Netswork (MCN) this past fall. Great work going on there. Thanks also for using some of the images we've contributed to Wikimedia Commons -- exactly what we hoped would happen. Dwythe (talk) 00:38, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
hi thanks, hope it wasn't too snarky. trying to educate about copyright is great work, (and wikipedian's bete noir) User:LoriLee is the glam coordinator. Slowking4 †@1₭ 19:57, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
heck no Slowking4! glad to be in touch and always glad for input. User:LoriLee is awesome -- she was one of the speakers at MCN. If I didn't have so much on my desk already, I'd love to do more Wiki work. Maybe when I'm retired... (not so very long now!) Dwythe (talk) 20:24, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
