\phi vs. \varphi

In TeX notation there is a difference between \phi and \varphi, i.e.

$\phi \not =\varphi$

In the same time when Wikipedia renders \phi without using bitmaps, it shows \varphi instead of \phi, i.e. \phi shows as $\phi$ and \varphi shows as $\varphi$

Can this be avoided?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "change your username" - do you mean, in your signature? Or do you mean for this entire account? DS 18:13, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
