Evergreen Cemetery (Jacksonville, Florida)

I am seeing references to an Evergreen Cemetery in St. Augustine. For example where William A. Harn is buried. Do you think this is the same one as the one in Jacksonville or are there two up there? Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Candleabracadabra (talk) 10:46, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

I added an article on the Brooks County Jail. There's an external link to a video from a guy who spent time there, may o may not interest you. I added some articles on properties on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Lowndes County, Georgia and used several photographs you took. I wasn't sure on one of the courthouse photos if it was the back or the side? And I found it difficult to find much on the Dasher School. It's a historic district. Not really much of one, as I saw very few buildings (historic-looking or not) in the area. I took photos of the likeliest contributing properties. I would recommend the NR focus site on nps.gov, but like Florida, it looks like most of the old Georgia records have not been added yet. Oh well. Hope that helps.
Btw, do you use Microsoft Excel? I have a spreadsheet I use to help make NRHP infobox generation easier. That's one of the things I always tried to do when creating NRHP stubs. Also, do you have AutoWikiBrowser? I've found it massively useful in updating info on Wikipedia and Wikicommons. I wonder why The Ridge is listed on Wikipedia as an individual building or site if it is a district? My technology is pretty primitive. What is the best way to see your Okeechobee photos? And what about your other photos? I think there are some links on your user page so I will take a look there when I have some time. I created articles on Floral City Heritage Days and the Floral City Heritage Museum. Used your photos. Feel free to add info boxes... Where do I go to ask a copyright question? I'm wondering about WPA art like paintings commmissioned for post offices. Are these in the public domain? I created articles on several of the artists who made them. Is there a place for general discussion on article work? I find the WikiProjects have a very small and narrow audience and often have somewhat insular thinking. Explorations V Children's Museum

Greetings. I hope you are well. I found a couple photos of the entrance of this museum and I was wondering if you had any shots of the building? It's supposed to be in Lakeland's 1929 Kress building. Also, I've been stubbing up some of Florida's other museums from the List of museums in Florida. If you have time to look through my contrib list and see if you know of photos of any that would be most helpful. I try to look for photos when I can, but I haven't been great about it for these. The Museum of Southern History is at a deletion discussion. It's funny how the articles on subjects I think are more interesting or unique (notable?) are sometimes the ones that get put before the proverbial firing squad. Mahoney-McGarvey House

I created an article on this subject and was happy to find the photos you uploaded. The architect, J. A. Wood, is also credited with the Oglethorpe Hotel in Brunswick and was the designer of the Tampa Bay Hotel. Candleabracadabra (talk) 20:36, 25 April 2014 (UTC)

I had no idea it had that history. It's near the old county courthouse. So when I was taking shots of that in the morning, I noticed the interesting house and took some photos of it too. It was a good day for photography. I wouldn't mind revisiting Brunswick. There's a couple new NRHPs there now, and it's a nice area. Btw, I'm always happy to see my pictures being used, doncha know. From your photos it looks like a beautiful area. If you do make it back up there we don't have any photos for the Windsor Park Historic District. At least I didn't find any. Seems to be a suburban area outside Brunswick that got developed in the late 1920s. Not as cool as Brunswick as far as I can tell. Thanks again and enjoy the sunshine. Punta Gorda Fish Company Ice House

At the moment they are using the same pictures, but from the references you used in Lee County and Charlotte County they look different: did you visit the two sites? I can't believe I mixed those two up. The ice plant is in Punta Gorda. The ice house is off Captiva Island. It's part of the List of historic Fish Cabins of Charlotte Harbor, Florida. I never got shots of them since you need a boat to get to them. I removed the photo in the ice house infobox. Lewis House in Tallahassee is really Spring House

Hello Ebyabe. I've been asked by the Spring House Institute of which I am board member to make some corrections and additions to the Lewis House page.

For one, Byrd Lewis says this house was never called Lewis House as her father George Lewis said there were already 2 houses called Lewis in town and he wanted something different. We'd also like better photos. Much of the content at the SHI website could be used.

Being a brand new Wiki editor, I am lost as to what to do myself and would appreciate some help. Looks like you created the page and do a lot of updating. Changing the title name that is also used in links seems like a big deal to me and I sure don't want to screw it up. Heck this thing about ending a talk with 4 tildes is a mystery.

You did the right thing; I'll reply here. :) I created the article for Lewis House (Tallahassee, Florida) back in 2006. Part of my mission at the time to have at least a short article on all the Florida NRHPs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the 'Lewis House', which is why I created it under that name. But if it is more commonly known as the Spring House, just supply some reliable sources to that effect and we should be able to move it to that name. The name in the NRHP infobox will stay the Lewis House, though, as that's the standard since it's information about it as an NRHP listing.
I'd be delighted to see the article expanded. I created the NRHP stubs years ago in hopes that would happen. Just use reliable sources to validate the data added. That does include not just internet accessible stuff, but books too. You know, those things made out of lots of sheets of paper? :) But don't just copy stuff word-for-word. Content here (words and pictures) must be freely available. No copyright infringing.

Articled NRHP sites

Hi Ebyabe!. I'm trying to complete the pages of NRHP sites in Florida using the statistics in the project progress and the information provided by the script Dudemanfellabra/NRHPstats.js. My problem are the the counties' lists (like Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Escambia, Pasco, and Union) apparently fully populated, but declared as incomplete: do you know how to identify the missing articles? A single page for a MPS or TR instead of multiple indipendent stubs is not a bad idea: I don't think that you can collect enough information to write good articles for all of them. Moreover, most of the lists (like Opa-locka TR, Homestead MPS, Miami Shores TR) work fine. Public information about people in the public eye

Thanks for the reading. I'm now concerned about having personal information about any actor/actress on wikipedia, as it's a violation of WP:PRIVACY. Can you please explain to me where it is and is not appropriate to put information, such as the name of a child they have, when it is also present elsewhere in their page? Thanks.

Glynn county, GA

Technically true. Got into Brunswick late on August 18, 2011 and spent the night there. Then toured the city the next day, followed by St. Simons and Jekyll islands. I like getting as many photos as I can, especially on the longer trips. So I don't spend much time in any one spot. But I really liked Brunswick, and wouldn't mind revisiting. I took the Wikipedia National Register info from 24 counties in southeast Georgia and pasted it into a word file for easy reference. The rural counties have a lot of National Register sites that don't have photos. I'm going to get to a lot of them (I've already done some). I've planed out some routes, like "I can get to these three counties in an afternoon", or "I can get that one on the way to ...". BTW, my family owns a National Register site, McCranie's Turpentine Still. When it was put on the Register in 1976, I think that was the first time I'd heard of the N.R. Cool! I used to do theatre in an NRHP (Baird Hardware Company Warehouse) and live near an NHL (Fort King).
I use Microsoft Excel so I can organize and sort my lists. I always create my itineraries with way more spots than I can get to, rather than run out. Google Maps has led me astray on occasion, but with Google Street View, you can reccy to see if the addresses are accurate. Well, accurate-ish.
I'd wanted to do more of Georgia, since I've got most of the sites in Florida photographed. But I haven't had the wherewithal of late. Hopefully that will change in the foreseeable future, as I do love the roadtripping. I live in Ocala, which is ideally located to get anywhere in Florida, and only a couple of hours from the Georgia line. Anyhoo, good luck and enjoy your travels. If there's you'd like any suggestions or advice, feel free to ask. Like, when you travel when it's warmer you should freeze water in several varying size bottles, so you have cold water all day. I recommend that you get a better camera, probably a bridge camera. There are good ones in the $200-300 range. I got my daughter a Fujifilm Finepix for Xmas. Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ20 is a quite good one, for $300. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 04:37, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
