Replaceable fair use File:Swifty Mcvay.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Swifty Mcvay.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 21:40, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Linkin Park, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. SkyWarrior 20:06, 20 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Kamikaze (Eminem album) does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Famousbirthdays.com as a source[edit]

Hi EditAvenger. I noticed that you recently used famousbirthdays.com as a source for information in a biography article, YBN Almighty Jay. Please note that there is general consensus that famousbirthdays.com does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). If you disagree, let's discuss it.

Regarding the reference from Seventeen: It looks like a compilation of interviews, so would be considered a primary source. --Ronz (talk) 04:16, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi EditAvenger How are you? Good to meet you. I'm sorry to report that the article you wrote at the above, has been reverted to the redirect. When I reviewed it, there simply wasn't enough there to satisfy WP:BIO or WP:SIGCOV. References to listing is not enough. Thanks. scope_creep (talk) 14:54, 13 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article No Love the Takeover has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable debut mixtape.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A tag has been placed on Category:NLE Choppa albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Tagging articles with Template:Missing information[edit]

This template should only really be used in special circumstances where there is an obvious lack of basic information. You also provided no corresponding section on the talk page. Please read the template before using it: "This template should be used when certain necessary information is absent from the article. Please open a corresponding discussion detailing the missing information on the article's discussion page before placing the tag." (emphasis added) Meet the Woo 2 is not one of these cases. If you think an article like Meet the Woo 2 lacks basic information or needs those sections, then you should basically be tagging every single article you edit for "missing information". But you won't, because you have obvious double standards—you tag Meet the Woo 2 then go and create an article like The Allegory that lacks all of the sections you just specified in the missing information template you drive-by tagged Meet the Woo 2 with. Do not reinstate such templates unless there is a serious problem with an article. Otherwise you're drive-by tagging and will be reverted, as you just were. Thank you. Hi EditAvenger. I have just redirected Love or Lust (24kGoldn song), an article you recently created, as it unfortunately fails the guidelines at WP:NSONG. I noticed you've recently created a number of other stub articles which do not meet the requirements set out at WP:NSONG. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the notability guidelines, but please kindly read it, as it pertains to some of the articles you created, particularly: "Notability aside, a standalone article is appropriate only when there is enough material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." Creating stub articles that serves readers with little to nothing to read is not particularly helpful. Articles also need to have enough reliable sources to establish notability. Also note, there may be a claim of notability if a song "has been ranked on national or significant music or sales charts", however that does automatically classify it as notable; Quote, "(Note again that this indicates only that a song may be notable, not that it is notable.)" Articles need more than just an infobox, a chart table, or short intro or some minor prose about the background of a song - even if the song is from a notable act. This is not to diminish your efforts; it is great that you are taking the time to create new articles, but please kindly remember to consider the guidelines when creating articles in future. Take care. Thank you. AshMusique (talk) 12:38, 2 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Student newspapers as references[edit]

Hi there, I noticed that at Slime Language 2 you added genres to the infobox, but unfortunately the sources you used were not reliable as they were sourced to student/university newspapers. Student newspapers are run by students and are therefore not reliable sources as they are not experts in the fields they write on (even for music genres). They are basically self-published authors; please see WP:SELFPUB in regard to this and please kindly familiarize yourself with what a reliable source (WP:RS) is per Wikiepdia's guidelines. If you have added any such sources to other articles then I would advise you to remove them. Thank you AshMusique (talk) 23:04, 25 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
