Star Control Homepage Dispute notification

Good evening. This is with regards to the editing dispute (Talk:Star Control - Wikipedia) as to whether the game's current homepage (www.starcontrol.com) should be listed on the Star Control article. A third party has offered to mediate the dispute to see if we can come to some sort of consensus or, if failing that, a resolution that best meets the encyclopedia's standards. Thanks for the notice. As I told you before that page has been a battleground for a couple of years as a couple of super fans of the original creators keep trying to purge the page of any mention of the current IP holder, Stardock. EggsHam (talk) 12:07, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

I now understand what you mean. The user @Voidvector ran into the same problem with the same two editors with the Star Control template. I only noticed because one of the involved editors chose to add their nothing-burger lawsuit to the Stardock template and I have made the Stardock stuff my little niche. I now know more about the worthless Star Control lawsuit than I ever wanted to. ERegion (talk) 23:22, 29 October 2022 (UTC)

My read is that you have two super fans who have some connection to each other who don't like how the lawsuit turned out and are hoping to use Wikipedia to alter the result in people's minds.

They have managed to bully their way into turning the Star Control entry into a fan page instead of a decent article. Since that article was one of the first ones I ever tried to edit, thinking it was a "safe" starting place and running into those two gatekeepers, I was nearly turned off the entire Wikipedia experience. To date, I've not run into any problems on Wikipedia other than the gatekeeping duo who seem to live in their own alternative reality. EggsHam (talk) 21:53, 31 October 2022 (UTC)
