Timestamps[edit]

Hi. I noticed, in five recent postings to WP:ANI, you manually signed using a non-standard timestamp. The signatures specified a timezone of BST and were also wrong by up to six minutes (according to the page history). Timestamps on enwiki's discussion pages are expected by archiving bots and other scripts to be in the standard format and UTC timezone, per WP:SIGPROB. Otherwise, they would require additional processing to guess, and then deal with, the various formats that people might use, incurring a performance hit. The easiest thing to do is just use ~~~~ at the end of your post to automatically generate a signature with your linked username and correct timestamp of the edit. I've manually fixed the five instances in question. Thanks for understanding. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 06:55, 13 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
