Welcome![edit]

Hello, ElaineBM, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Article selections[edit]

  1. Severe weather
  • Someone did this in 2018. Still more to be done, sure, but there were some difficulties. It is a bit long and has actually been pretty well-trod.
  1. Desktop computer
  • This is possible. It seems like this structure was set in place a while ago...I wonder if there's some way to reconsider it.
  1. Health information on the Internet
  • Someone else also found this. If it's still available, you can grab it.
  1. Hobby
  • Someone did this last year. Interesting that you still found it.
  1. Food
  • This one is semi-protected, which makes it a bit hard to work with. To get around semi-protects, you have to make at least 10 edits to Wikipedia to get confirmed. It does look like things need to be worked on here, but it is also just a lot longer than we want. Looking a little closer, the things that I think need to be done have some roadblocks...including that the Transhumanist--a seasoned wiki editor who I've encountered before--worked on them extensively 2 years ago. He does a lot of these food articles and is very vigilant about them. So I think maybe let's leave this one alone.

Hmm, seems like you've almost struck out here. The Desktop computer might work. You might want to keep poking around for options. If you're still struggling in a day or two, you can pick up leftovers from the article list. Etherfire (talk) 04:44, 17 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
