Welcome![edit]

If I reverted one of your edits and you found fault in me doing so, please don't hesitate to nicely bring it to my attention. I am fairly new to editing Wikipedia and therefore I will make mistakes. However, 'tis not the end of the world. Have patience with a n00b... after all, you were one too! Thank you! ElationAviation (talk) 00:46, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism Edit[edit]

Hello, your reverts on Battle of Attock were not vandalism and I have undone your revert. I added that template to the article to assist the article's original author in getting content up on the article and not worrying about it getting marked for speedy deletion. Sorry for the mix up! ialsoagree (talk) 01:09, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I had a feeling that this was a mistake and I'm glad you caught it! :) ElationAviation (talk) 01:11, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Automated response[edit]

Hey they, I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're using Huggle, but my recent change wasn't actually an act of vandalism, but instead a change in wording. I can understand the concern, especially considering I didn't make any notes, but I'm just letting you know. I'm actually a registered user, but sometimes Wikipedia logs me out and I don't realize it until after I make large edits, and find out I was posting from my IP instead. Either way, just giving you a heads up. If this were a situation where you manually reverted my edit because you disagreed with it, and added the vandalism notification to my page, than instead try discussing it on my talk page or on the articles talk page first. Regards. 67.223.194.79 (talk) 02:51, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you revert my edit to this page? --24.235.243.8 (talk) 02:52, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Issue has been resolved and the article has been restored. Sorry about the mistake... thought "fisted" was being used as a vulgar term. Thanks for pointing this out to me. ElationAviation (talk) 02:57, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do believe you and I may have collided on this page. I have requested semi-protection on this page due to persistent vandalism by multiple IPs (which is difficult to rollback). However, in the mix you may have reverted my reversion of the vandals and warned me against vandalism. Just FYI. LeilaniLad (talk) 05:04, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop reverting the changes to the Leonard (the big bang theory page) The changes are not complete. I needed to get correct names but it is what happened last night!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.115.74.106 (talk) 20:37, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Big Bang Theory[edit]

PLEASE STOP reverting my updates to the Leonard (The Big Bang Theory) page. The data on the relationship is accurate. I wasn't completely finished as i went to go look up Dr. Elizabeth Plimpton's name. Please stop editing it. The data in the Relationship section is VERY OLD!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.115.74.106 (talk) 20:36, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted the edit only once because vulgar keywords appeared several times. Sorry if you're not vandalizing... but if it's possible, use terms like "intimate relationship", etc. etc. There's no need to go into graphic detail about topics like this. ElationAviation (talk) 20:45, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not vandalsim[edit]

These edits were not vandalism. Why the revert? STAT- Verse 00:17, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That diff doesn't even have this user in it. SilverserenC 00:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And then you changed it. :P I would say that it's appropriate to have that in the article, but it should be at the bottom, not shoved in the middle like that. SilverserenC 00:22, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The line, "OMG (song) OMG", looked suspicious and was the reason why I reverted the edit. Sorry if this was a mistake. ElationAviation (talk) 00:25, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To SilverserenC i know it didnt i had to fix it and to ElationAviation: Its a popular song right now with some ppl. STAT- Verse 00:29, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, it's a real song, apparently. SilverserenC 00:32, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, sorry again. Not my genre of music. Hehe. Thanks again for the correction. ElationAviation (talk) 00:34, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

I've noticed that you are doing a lot of vandalism reversion. I'd like to thank you for your efforts in this area but I've noticed on several occasions that you have reverted edits, tagging them as vandalism when they are not. Wikipedia:Vandalism defines vandalism as "any addition, removal, or change of content made in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." It further states that that "any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism." As an example, this edit that you reverted[1], while poorly written, is not vandalism. Another example of what isn't vandalism is this. Even your reversion, which restored the vandalism that had been removed by that edit,[2] was not vandalism. It might be a good idea to slow down a bit and check that your reversions are in fact reverting vandalism before proceeding. Thanks. --AussieLegend (talk) 02:45, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A better edit summary for when you are reverting material that isn't vandalism, but is poorly written or likely not relevant or necessary, including not having references included, is to put "Removing unsourced information", since you are allowed to take out any unsourced material on any article page without prejudice. SilverserenC 02:54, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you both very much for the advice... I'm going to slow down and use Lupin less to learn more about Wiki editing. I feel that I'm taking too much time to combat vandals and not enough time to figure out the ropes here. Thank you again! ElationAviation (talk) 05:07, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thank you for reverting the beyond-ugly vandalism at the Richard Hartshorne article. The thought that somebody besides me is keeping an eye on the article takes some of the sting out of that vandalism. The Tetrast (talk) 05:00, 12 May 2010 (UTC).[reply]

No problem at all. Glad I could help! :) ElationAviation (talk) 05:11, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

why?[edit]

why did you revert my post? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.178.217.238 (talk) 05:47, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Because "The Zombie sucks a balls, his ass stinks, & hes fired to top it all off!" is considered vandalism and is not tolerated in the Wikipedia community. Please make constructive contributions in the future. ElationAviation (talk) 05:49, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Accident?[edit]

I take it this edit was a rollback accident? --Stemonitis (talk) 05:53, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, sorry. Guess two of us were reverting at the same time. My apologies again. ElationAviation (talk) 05:55, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, i've seen that happen before. For some reason, edit conflicts just don't show up in that regard sometimes. It's quite aggravating when it happens. SilverserenC 06:02, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Vandalism mistake" on George Galloway[edit]

OK, no offence taken. But you must be careful with anti-vandalism tools; editors have been sanctioned for marking disputed, but non-vandalistic, edits as "vandalism". As far as the POV substance of your comment, I will try to find a reliable source, I suspect it was GG's own term. RolandR (talk) 07:44, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I'm becoming better at monitoring my actions while using anti-vandalism tools and am thankful for those who are being patient while I'm learning. Cheers! ElationAviation (talk) 07:46, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

... where's your sense of humor? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.207.81.7 (talk) 01:53, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Responded on your talk page. "Sense of humor" has nothing to do with Wikipedia. Vandalism isn't humorous, it's vandalism. As I said on your talk page, please make constructive edits only. ElationAviation(speak) 02:12, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so please explain how what I'm doing is "vandalism".

If you've been warned three times by two different editors, it's pretty obvious that your contribution, "(the pie fucker)", isn't appropriate. Please stop reverting the article or you'll be reported to Wiki admin. ElationAviation(speak) 02:18, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but - colloquially that's how his character is known. So, what's the problem? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.207.81.7 (talk) 02:38, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons are as follows:
  • Jason Biggs (aka "the pie dipper") is not correct. Cite a source that says it's his official nickname and it's fine. But don't and it's wrong.
  • "Who really loves pies." is not cited either. Valid info only if it has a source.
  • Saying "Jason is 'Pie Sexual'" is not correct either.
The point I'm getting at is just because an actor played a character in a movie that does NOT mean that he possesses the same qualities as that specific character. That's why. ElationAviation(speak) 02:54, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Prod2 removal[edit]

I see that in this edit you removed a prod2 template I had placed on an article, with the edit summary "Reverted good faith edits by JamesBWatson; Unnecessary content". Can you explain why? As far as I am aware it is not normal for one editor to remove a prod2 placed by another while the prod remains in place, and if there is some reason for making an exception in this case I should like a little more explanation as to why than just "Unnecessary content". JamesBWatson (talk) 20:58, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry... had no idea what a "Prod2" is (still don't). Looked to me like someone had written jibberish in the article. I have restored your edit. My apologies. ElationAviation 21:01, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. When a prod has been placed on an article by an editor another editor can indicate agreement with the prod by adding {{prod2}}. It is also possible to add additional comments by using {{prod2|Comment here}}. However, your change had one good effect. It made me think about the wording I had used, because I thought that might be what you were objecting to. I decided that "Notable????" was rather biting the newcomer, so I have toned it down. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:08, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you for understanding. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the same formatting while patrolling so I don't make the same error again.  :) ElationAviation 21:10, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cite[edit]

The material is mentioned and cited within the article itself.--RM (Be my friend) 02:02, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
