A tag has been placed on Draft:Centrinian Publishing, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Block Message[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have an undisclosed financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Since a blocking template was not left and the user has questions I'm just going to leave this here Kb03 (talk) 14:40, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hello Wikimedia Foundation, I am kindly putting in a request to unblock my account so that I may continue to makes contributions in compliance with the Wikimedia Foundation Terms of Use. I understand the reason my account was blocked and the reason my article was deleted, which I agree with and take full responsibility for making the rookie mistake of not reading the policy prior to creating my first article. I understand that my article violated the Terms of Use as it was created as a form of advertisement to promote my company, which, after having read the Terms of Use and the paid editing disclosure requirements, I understand and accept is a violation of the policy. Being one of the owner's of the company I created an article about is a form of financial conflict of interest as I have a close financial relationship with the company, which places a conflict between my company's goals and Wikipedia's goals. Bein unaware of the Terms of Use, I failed to disclose my paid editing to Wikipedia and inadvertently used Wikipedia for public relations and marketing purposes. In hindsight, I can see that it was a spam article and the decision to delete the article was most certainly the right decision to make. I understand and accept that the Wikimedia Foundation is not to be used for advertising and paid editing of articles to promote companies, products, and services is banned. I had been misinformed about the types of content that could be created on Wikipedia, however, I take full responsibility for misusing the site. I do not regard my ignorance as an excuse for violating Wikipedia's Terms of Use, and I assure you this mistake will never happen again as it was never my intention to misuse the site. I have read the Terms of Use and will continue to read further guidelines so that I am well versed in the conduct accepted by the Wikimedia Foundation. I am kindly asking you to give me a second chance. I will not make the same mistake twice, and I assure you I will not create any form of articles for the purpose of advertisement or marketing purposes or anything regarding any projects I am affiliated with. I will stick with encyclopedic topics in future. Please unblock my account so that I may utilise the full features of the Wikimedia Foundation and contribute and use the services according to the policies, as should have been the case from the get-go. Thanks for allowing me to put my appeal forward. Eldermagus (talk) 16:05, 27 August 2020 (UTC)

Orangemike, do you have any comment? 331dot (talk) 00:42, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm willing to assume good faith here. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:58, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot: @Orangemike: You have my word this was a one time mistake, which will not be repeated. Thank you! Eldermagus (talk) 02:03, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@331dot: Thank you very much for approving my unblock request. I greatly appreciate the chance to contribute to Wikipedia, and as promised, I have studied the guidelines and will abide by the policies. Thanks again. Eldermagus (talk) 10:16, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request to Unblock Account Response[edit]

Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me. To answer your question, I think I will stick to my area of interest, which is history articles, British colonial history mostly, but I will likely branch out to Colonial America also, most likely the 13 British Colonies.

Thanks.

Just to note, the Foundation only operates the computers Wikipedia is on, and is not typically involved in day to day operations. Editors handle most matters but we don't represent the Foundation. 331dot (talk) 00:44, 28 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
