Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.

Information icon Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gunslugs, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 17:32, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, are you not liking this edit because a specific date was listed for Atari VCS and no source given for the date? The line above it regarding the game being released on 3DS and Switch is also not sourced but is there. Additionally, in most video game Wikipedia game pages regarding the platform it is on there is no source given in an opening statement. OrangePixel and Atari both list it on their websites as a game on the the VCS but my understanding is a source has to be a third party. I do feel the way I had it written was valid. Thank you. A source is needed for verification - while the lede usually doesn't have sources, that it because the lede is a summary of info in the article, and the information is sourced elsewhere in the article. A source doesn't necessarily need to be a secondary source for non-extraordinary claims, sourcing Atari for a release date is fine, but Atari saying it's 'the best game of 2023' for example wouldn't. WP:BURDEN states that "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution" - the onus is on the editor adding information to provide a source. Fair enough. I added the source from AtariAge which is owned by Atari and left by David Page (davpa) who is an Atari Employee. Also, at the bottom of the page under External links, it already lists the website for developer OrangePixel which states they released it on Atari VCS. I hope this will do, thanks.
