Copyright Violations[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia Enrisga, you see by the above warnings that we take copyright violation seriously and you should read Help:Contents/Getting started in particular you need to understand our policy and guidelines on copyright. If you copy information from other websites into wikipedia again you will have your editing rights restricted, that is you will not be able to edit wikipedia until you understand our polices. Thanks. Comment[edit]

Dear Sirs, my name is Enrico Sgarbi and I'm head of communications of Piaggio Aero Industries (www.piaggioaero.com) -I tried several time to correct the wrong article posted on Wikipedia regarding my company. My editorial has been systematically removed for "copyright violation". First point it doesn't exist a real copyright on this text; Second point the only similar text are inclyded into the Piaggio Aero web site www.piaggioaero.com an I personally wrote that text. Being the author of both I don't understand why they are systematically cancelled. I can provide you full reference on my identity and my role in Piaggio Aero and the fact I'm the Web master of Piaggioaero.com I would ask you to remove the block you made a as soon as possible nd to help me to post a correct article on Piaggio giving, at the mean time, full authorization even for the parts that may seem copyrighted. I look forward to hearing from you, best regards

Thanks for the reply Enrico and thanks for explaining your position. Wikipedia has guidelines and rules concerning editors with a conflict of interest and these can be read here WP:COI. It basically means that if you have some connection with the subject of the article then you should not really edit the article. This does not mean you can not contribute but what you should is raise your concerns and suggestions on the article talk page so other editors can review the requested change. The main issue is that Wikipedia should give a neutral point a view and editors connected with the subject will have a particularly bias. With regard to the copying information from the company website, information on the Piaggioaero website and press releases are normally copyright by the company and also the tone and content may not be suitable for an encyclopedia. Please assume good faith on our behalf and remember this is an encyclopedia and not a publicity site for Piaggio. I also acknowledge that information on the website could be wrong or could be better and if you can release images with the appropriate free licence that would be appreciated. If you are happy just to comment on the article talk pages with suggestions and problems I am sure that other editors will take it in the spirit it is intended and edit the article as required according to Wikipedia guidelines. I will have a word with the administrator that blocked you to see what we can do, but remember if the block is removed and you edit Piaggio articles directly it may be re-instated due to the conflict of interest. Sorry for the delay Enrico but the block on you editing has been removed. Please take note of my comments above particularly about copyright and we welcome your help on the Piaggio article. MilborneOne (talk) 10:59, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
