I think the people saying it's not-notable is just because they don't like wrestling. I don't care about theatre but I think the Tony Awards are noatble. WrestleMania is the biggest wrestling event of the year, it always gets big mainstream press and is aired live in over 100 countries, I think that qualifies as notable. TJ Spyke 22:06, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Wanted to thank you for taking the time to correct me and point me in the correct correction regarding the edits I made on 2007 page regarding Wrestlemania. It isn't often you get someone being polite when they correct you, i thought I would take the time to mention it. - Kaobear 16:09, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

dyk

Updated DYK query Did you know? was updated. On 24 August, 2006, a fact from the article Ball tampering, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Partick Station (and other stations)

Maybe inclined to agree that the frame is not the most elegant. Finding a way to ensure that the link (put in by someone else) within the caption is accessible is a better way forward. This is also applicable to other stations, which I replicated when editting or adding various pictures (including my own for Crianlarich - which does not have a link)

Pencefn 21:25, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

I am too much of a newbie to WP to modify the template - although I will have a look at it. I am not sure what effect an edit will have elsewhere. Pencefn 21:38, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Temptation was too great. Have a look at User:Pencefn/Sandbox2. The revised template is atTemplate:Pencefn/Sandbox1. What do you think. Stewart 22:07, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
I have put a comment on Template talk:UK stations#Adding a caption to the Image to see if there will be a response. Stewart 22:19, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Following a successful period of consultation WikiProject Scotland has now been launched. As a participant in the Scottish Wikipedians' notice board I wonder if you may be interested in this new endeavour too? If so, please sign-up here. The WikiProject will be replacing some of the functions of the notice board, especially those in the lower half.

While I am here, please also have a look at the new Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Scotland and give it a "Watch". It was started up by User:Visviva a few days ago, after long being mooted at the notice board, and effectively replaces all the AfD listings at the notice board. Being a transclusion of all the on-going discussions it is a much more useful tool.

Even if you do not want to spend too much time on the WikiProject, please give it a "Watch" and feel free to contribute to Talk page discussions: the more contributors the merrier.

All the best. --Mais oui! 11:25, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Great Britain road zone templetes

Hi, thanks, those templates are really great. I've been meaning to get back onto them. I really love the design, but I thought that it might be quite nice to have a colour scheme, so that the colour of the bar on the template would correspond to that shown on this map

. It might even be an idea to include a map of Great Britain in each templete, with the highlighted zone and hyperlinks for the other zones (although I wouldn't know how to create the map links). Let me know what you think. Lofty 14:58, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

Road templates

Erath,

Would you have any objections to me adapting your motorway route box for A roads?

Regan123 12:51, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Absolutely no objection. I once considered it myself. Good luck! Erath 15:23, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Could I ask you to have a quick look at A7 road which is my test bed? It is very similar to the motorway one, but I have made some of the entries optional as the information may be problematic to come across :-) Regan123 20:15, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Hey, I like it. My recommendations would be to reduce the picture size of the header - it's a little bulky, and probably to leave off the motorway sign which looks a little out of place - of course, it's totally up to you. Erath 22:29, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestions. I have reduced the image size, so it sits better. My hope had ben with the roads met, was it for to be like the motorway ones. I'll just have to improve my drawing skills and do the rest of the A road signs. But we'll see how the later goes! Regan123 23:09, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Couple of bits

1. I have no idea how to stop the bold (hence me bolding up the A road version!).

2. How did you create the A road signs as I look to have a long road ahead (pun intended) to start drawing them! Regan123 23:34, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

1. I think I learned that the hard way!
2. I have a Microsoft Word document and the appropriate fonts, and I mock up the signs using its drawing capabilities - limited, but effective in this case. I've already made the signs for A1 to A99. You'll also find Image:UK road A406.PNG already exists, I used it for a test some time back. Erath 23:52, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
2. Any chance you could upload those done as I want to start doing more of the route boxes? Or if you prefer (I don't want to impose) email me the doc and I'll give it a go (I'm just being lazy). There are some motorway ones I did by cut and paste that I need to try again... Regan123 00:14, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
Drop me a list of every one you need... I'll try and get some of them done. Remind me if they're all actually primary routes or not - so I can mock them up in green or white as necessary. Furthermore, you'll find some new ideas on your A7 road test page, including a meta-template to simplify syntax - let me know what you think! Erath 14:08, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
The A7 road looks really good. Do you think that layout (for the joined roads) would work on the Mway box as well?
The only other two I have done so far is the [{A63 road]] and A180 road. Of course that leads to one road and then another. Also I noticed the template for UK road small which is a brilliant idea. I'll let you know as I work my way through them, but my initial thought had been to do the primary route ones already set up and worry about new articles later. Alternatively we could create stub articles for all the UK primary routes (we have the tables for A1xxx & A2xxx roads first of all) that don't have them add the box and then stub sort them? What do you think would be the best way forward? Regan123 17:51, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

(retabbing) I think problems creep up when you start to try and make every A-road article - we should stick to the existing articles and not try to make any new ones just now, unless you're sure they'll pass notability requirements. The A893 road, for example, is a primary road, but it's a couple of hundred yards long - and about as notable as my local back lane. Let's stick to what's there. Erath 17:59, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I don't disagree with that. Maybe for the smaller roads an article similar to List of B roads in Great Britain may be appropriate but for another time! Regan123 20:34, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

A road signs

I have thrown together a Photoshop file for doing these as the list was getting somewhat massive after only a few routeboxes! I would be more than happy to send you the file if you wanted? Regan123 16:48, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Photoshop's no use to me, I'm afraid - don't have the program. Erath 17:17, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
OK. Whilst having a little wander I came across this link on User_talk:Lofty and was wondering if you had come to any agreement about the format. These look really good and it would be nice to get them on the pages. And I'm sorry to keep bothering you! Regan123 17:31, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Hehehe, no bother. And of course I love the format - it's mine! Erath 17:34, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Back again! Been working (slowly) on the A2xxx roads, but I noticed that the Template:UK primary routes 2 some of the roads listed are already non-primary. I was thinking of changing the title to UK Major A roads in Zone 2 but don't want to be all unilateral about it.
Also, I do prefer your format and was wondering if you could upload the templates you have done for 7, 8 & 9?
Cheers, Regan123 21:41, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
Go mad, it's your call. Also, just take the syntax I used for the templates right out of my sandbox edit - just copy and paste, it'll be fine. I'm feeling a bit lethargic right now (new job) so I'm leaving it in your capable hands! Erath 23:53, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Re: NFL on Television

If you want to add information about NFL broadcasts from other nations, GO AHEAD. We are not stopping you, we welcome such additions and want them. The fact that a 32-team sports league with 32 teams based in America and 0 teams based outside of America focuses mostly on games as broadcast in America is not unfair bias. again, PLEASE ADD THE INFORMATION YOURSELF. It is obvious you have an interest in this area, therefore of all editors on WikiPedia, you are OBVIOUSLY best equipped to make the best contribution. --Jayron32 22:08, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Wow, no need to shout. I wanted to improve a potential UK broadcasting section, but there isn't one, and quite frankly that would just be a British-centric edit, and then we would have to add a hundred more for all the other countries that broadcast. Hence the second idea in my edit summary. Erath 22:13, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

Scottish Claymores

Sorry, why delete 90% of a perfectly good article?

I have some reservations about the artiicle having been "perfectly good".

1995 season:

For the franchise's first season of play, Jim Criner was appointed as head coach.

Lary Kuharich was actually appointed as head coach, fired just before the season and replaced by Criner. a "perfectly good" article would have made reference to something this significant.

as with all World League teams, it included eight "national" players, including wide-receiver Scott Couper

as of 1995 it was 7 national players, only later on was it increased to 8.

1999 season: No mention of Dameyune Craig's single-game passing record. not NFLE record, pro football record.

2000 season:

Having completed three consecutive seasons without a winning record, head coach Criner was replaced by Gene Dahlquist

Criner was not replaced until after the 2000 season: my edit was factually correct, yours wasn't.

2004 season: no mention of the new head coach.

Not to mention that first time you submitted the article under the 2001 season you wrote that "offensive leaders of 2000 like Stecker and Sellers failed to return." Sellers had died in a car crash 2 months earlier.

If you want to keep the article your way, that's fine. But at least look over the omissions I've flagged up and do something about them. --BlueCanary 00:56, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

"Perfectly good" was a paraphrase. Yes there are errors and please feel free to work through them. I did miss things like Sellars' death and some of the rules. I'm not saying I'm right and you're wrong. I'm saying don't delete the majority of the article. Erath 01:32, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Fair enough. I've re-written the article to basically combine about 85% of each, and hope this is resolved. --BlueCanary 02:24, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Na, it's rubbish, no content left at all, disgraceful, I'm off to revert and throw a hissy fit... na, It's fine, I quite like it. *grin* Erath 12:16, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

User:The Clype / Scottish Claymores

I've been reluctant to get involved with this so far, but my patience has snapped and I've tagged the offending statement as needing citation. Calling his bluff should slow him down for a while, since I know and you know he can't possibly cite anything reliable about this and in reality it's probably just one of the old TDC trolls doing it for shits and giggles. BlueCanary 12:13, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Aye, no disagreement there. With you on this one. Erath 15:13, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for intervening. Just be careful though, I've figured out who this guy is, and he's a nasty individual. BlueCanary 09:27, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
Oh, gotcha. Well, if it gets any worse, we'll get some hierarchy involved - he can't stop everyone. Erath 12:44, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey, I noticed you made some comments about the grading system on the Motherwell F.C. page. Your ratings questions

Looking at your contributions, I see you asked a question at Talk:Motherwell F.C. on the 9th and acknowledged the answers you were given the next day (10th). Then, yesterday (12th) you ask essentially the same question at Talk:Ball tampering. What game exactly are you playing? —Moondyne 07:26, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

The game that asks people to give a reason for their ratings instead of just inserting a letter without any justification. I happen to intensely dislike the whole ratings idea as I feel it's being used as an excuse for people to just decide how bad they believe article is, instead of merely improving it. Hi Erath/Archive2, as a WikiProject Scotland participant, please check out this this thread and consider adding the bot results page to your watchlist so we can manually update the New Articles page. There are some false results for the first batch, but I'm sure we can collectively tune the rules to improve the output.

If we get enough people watching the results page, we'll be cooking with gas as they say :)   This looks like a great helper in finding new Scotland related material. Cheers. --Cactus.man 22:39, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Spam in Managerzone

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Managerzone, by WildManKY (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Managerzone is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Managerzone, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Managerzone itself. It's a big ugly list right at the top of what really is a keynote article. It doesn't belong there - it's not contributing to the article, it's not telling us anything, it's just a list of names and flags. I don't see what it brings whatsoever. Erath 22:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
