NC Masonic Lodges

Eric, there has been no actual deletion request. Blueboar asked me a question, and I answered. If it progresses any further, you would be notified. There are some concerns on the Talk page, but the article hasn't been touched since August 2011 to address any of that.

We do realize there is a lot of work in the article, but that is unfortunately secondary as to whether it is an appropriate article per WP policies. To be honest, you've sourced the article to one document (dead link aside), so really all it is is a reformat of a single source. Generally speaking, that's never good enough to meet the basic notability guidelines.

The information in the article is also well beyond what is encyclopedic; it is very much a directory of every lodge in the jurisdiction with their meeting nights, etc, and that is well outside the scope of the encyclopedia. Clearly, something needs to be done to it, if only because it is far too big - before the code was cleaned up, it was a 386K article. MSJapan (talk) 04:48, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Eric, Thanks for the nomination. On the one hand, I do get the hint; on the other hand, I'd come across the group before, and I'm glad to run into a few others whose views are "in line" with mine in a sense. So thank you for the reference, and sorry that the discussion on your article caught some folks' attention.

For what it's worth, the article is very well-done and comprehensive (even if it is virtually all from one source, something that I hadn't actually noticed until now)...it just strikes me as what I said (and I actually had no idea there were that many lodges in NC).Tyrenon (talk) 13:51, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
