Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Silacoid pic.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Silaciod pic.png. The copy called Image:Silaciod pic.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 01:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, and here I was wondering what to do with the first image (name was misspelled), but a bot already took care of it for me. How cool is that?! --Eruhildo 02:04, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop[edit]

Please stop redirecting every x-com related creature to the "terror from the deep" list. There were several games in that series, and this is going to take a while to clean up now. i kan reed 18:41, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really sorry about that. I made a stupid mistake and then copy and pasted it to a dozen other pages. I've fixed it now. Thanks for pointing it out to me - I never would have caught it otherwise. --Eruhildo 21:26, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blood+ Character Article(s)[edit]

Before starting on trying to make character articles, you have to make sure that you have out-of-universe info to justify a separation from the character list. This is especially concerned with Blood+ since the article page isn't exactly long enough to really justify character articles to conserve space. Saya is an exception since she's the central character in the series, movie, and manga related to the Blood franchise and finding info/expanding on current info can really make a great article. But for Haji and the rest of the characters, there really isn't that much we can do apart from coverage of their roles in the anime and that isn't enough to keep admins/users who would nominate the article for deletion and redirect the content which just causes problems for everyone, especially the people contributing to the article. So for now just concern with improving Saya's article since she's the only character that really has a shot at keeping her independance alive. Fox816 (talk) 04:08, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me - it will save me from wasting a lot of time on articles that will get deleted anyway. ^_^ I don't really know what counts as out-of-universe info - is there a policy or guideline on that? I'd like to read up on it. I'm still kind of new here, so I don't know all the rules yet, so to speak.
Also, what about David and Lewis? They were both in the movie and I think David was in one of the manga too. I know there's not enough on them for separate articles, but I don't know were to put the data about them outside the Blood+ series. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:53, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Read WP:WAF. Basically out-of-universe info is anything credible and cited that bridges the fictional work with the real world. Anything relating to the character within the ficiton, e.g- a character's role in the anime or information about that character that is written as if they were writing about a real person, is in-universe and shouldn't be too extensive. Out-of-universe info is along the lines of comments about the character from the director, creator, designer, etc..., character popularity, influences from other works, etc...basically any encyclopedic information. As well, plot information should be generally written as if you're talking about a work instead of having the "personal feel". David and Lewis, I wouldn't count on it passing. In terms of finding material, Saya would be our best bet since her popularity impact is far more widespread. Fox816 (talk) 02:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for your help. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:30, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

9th Elsewhere[edit]

The article was deleted initially as a result of the Afd - (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/9th Elsewhere). I am not an admin so can only assume the article has been speedily deleted for the same reasons as previously. Always mentions in the deletion log lack of importance. Quenya Wikipedia[edit]

Hello Eruhildo,
I notice that you have some knowledge of Quenya. Would you like to participate on the Quenya Wikipedia? The project has been dormant for quite some time, but as of late there seems to be renewed activity. For the survival of this Wikipedia the creation of new articles is greatly needed. Faultless Quenya is neither expected nor required.
Your help would be highly appreciated.
- Troy 19:01, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lol, I thought about creating such a thing about a year ago, but I didn't know there already was one. I'd love to participate. After my finals are over next week, I should have enough time to study up on Quenya again and write some articles. I'll look forward to it. Oh, do I need a separate account over there, or will the one I have here work? --Eruhildo 20:23, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User page policies[edit]

Hi. While looking at the Blood+ category, I noticed you had created this page User:Eruhildo/Chiroptera as a "back up" of an article that was up for AfD, and failed so is now redirected. Per the Wikipedia user page guidelines, specifically Wikipedia:User_page#Copies_of_other_pages, such pages are not appropriate and are subject to deletion, so you may want to go ahead and blank it then CSD it. The same would apply to User:Eruhildo/Saya Otonashi and any other "back ups" you've made. Collectonian (talk) 22:48, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know that, thanks for telling me. ^_^ --Eruhildo (talk) 22:59, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SoltyRei[edit]

Thank you and I'm sure I'll let you know once I found a good and reliable site for information but I can't guarantee if I could find any. Like at one site I looked into, instead of the name Eirene they call it Helen and their information is somewhat unreliable. About Hilga's name, I just found out after watching SoltyRei again in Episode:22. Though I've watched it many times, I ignored the English subtitles so I don't know that name of this huge vessel was already in front of my eyes. Stupid of me. My suggestion is to watch SoltyRei again and based on what you understand of the story. Of course original Japanese, English dubbed is somewhat unsure. That is how I come up the idea about Hilga. Do you have an original copy? If so, that's good.

The episodes I have are Japanese with English subs. I'll check ep22 again and see how they pronounce "Hliga". --Eruhildo (talk) 19:57, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I re-watched ep22 and it sounded like Solty said Hilga (ヒルガ, Hiruga) or Hilda (ヒルガ, Hiruda). I know that Hilda is a real name, but I don't know that Hilga is. Do you know what she said in the English dub? The more I listen to it, the more it sounds like Hilda, but there's a lot of noise during that scene so it's hard to tell. I'll check some Japanese sites to see if either one is listed. --Eruhildo (talk) 23:37, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:Anime voices multi[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Anime voices multi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:53, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for telling me. I should have tagged it myself already, but I completely forgot about it. I made it before a change in policy, so it's wholly unnecessary now. --Eruhildo (talk) 23:12, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Riku, George, and Saya.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Riku, George, and Saya.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:04, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prod removal[edit]

Hi. Sure, I'm happy to. My edit summary read (contains solid assertion of notability (50 million users) but no sources.) An article that has a strong assertion of notability isn't really suitable for prod deletion. If the article's to be deleted, it'll need AfD. By removing the prod notice, all I'm doing is saying that prod isn't suitable; I'm not saying notability is clearly demonstrated, just claimed. And you're right, it's currently unverified. If you take it to AfD, the AfD will judge if it's unverifiable, which is grounds for deletion, rather than unverified, which is not. Cheers. --Dweller (talk) 22:32, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoptee Issues[edit]

Hey there! I haven't been on much, so I'm sorry I'm being a slacker apprentice ;) I wanted to ask you a question about that IP user who keeps editing the SoltyRei page. Is there anything that can be done? This is turning into an edit war, and so far he hasn't seen fit to discuss the content with us in the Talk page, even though I keep leaving him messages in HTML comment markup. What is the proper procedure? In keeping with the assuming goodwill paradigm, I'd like to say that I'd like to consider his viewpoint, but it just doesn't seem to be supported by the anime. If multiple editors are in disagreement about content like that, should it just be left out? And is there any way to enforce such a thing, or might this be a long-term edit war of sorts? I'd hate to see that happen.  Elunah であります  Rawr!  20:45, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was just thinking the other day how I haven't checked up on you lately, so I guess I've been a slacker mentor :P. What you've done so far with reverting and leaving notes and such is good. There's not much else you can do. Leaving notes in html comment tags is the best way to let IP users know something like that - I've found that a lot of new users don't check the history (try asking your friends if they even know there's a history tab - my friends so far have all said no). Still, it's good to leave an edit summary as it makes it quick for other editors to see what's happened with an article. As you haven't had the same IP editor make the edits a whole bunch, you probably won't be able to get him blocked (espcially if he's made good edits too). You'll have no luck getting IP users blocked from the page - that's only for heavy vandalism and stuff. So for a while all you can do is keep reverting it. If things get really bad you can try WP:Requests for page protection (read WP:PROTECT) and WP:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents (read WP:BLOCK and WP:Blocking IP addresses). By the way, I'm not on much right now and I'm really busy with one article (lots of non-notable stuff getting added by forum kids and stuff; and you think you have it bad) so I may not be able to reply to you the quickest when you need help. Sorry. If you need help quick you can ask Collectonian - she's always fast about replying. Wow, that's was long. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:42, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I forgot to mention before that if an editor is violating Wikipolicy, you can give them a warning with the templates listed at WP:WARN. That should usually be done before trying to block them. The Facts section would apply in this case. Who knows, he might take notice. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:53, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the advice! I may end up trying some of those things, but to be honest, I don't think it's a terribly big deal. It's a revert every once in a while. If it gets really intense, like multiple changes in a day, I may have to resort to different measures. Hopefully I can continue working on the side version of the character list. I've been leaving it off because of papers at school =( So much writing! Anyways, thanks for the help, and good luck with those kids!  Elunah であります  Rawr!  02:49, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I know what you mean about school - I keep getting hit with tests and stuff. Things have slowed down a lot on the page I was busy with, so I'm not having anymore real trouble, but thank for wishing me good luck! Good luck with school and keep up the good work with Wikipedia. ^_^ --Eruhildo (talk) 07:51, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

DragonFable vandalism[edit]

Could you request for a 2-week semi-protection the Talk:DragonFable page? IP User 137.154.16.30 vandalized it, saying DragonFable is boring. Fortunately, I reverted it. Captain | contribs 10:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Protection is only for pages that are being vandalized repeatedly and things like that. As that IP user only vandalized once, it's not nearly enough of a reason to lock the page. So the answer is no. However, if he starts doing it repeatedly, I'll ask to have him blocked from editing. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:40, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Update suggestion...[edit]

Here is what Enterprise has suggested for an update to the AQ article:

Updates on the AQ article?

What exactly do you mean by "updates"? ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ talkto me 22:54, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uhhh...It seems to me that the AQ article hasn't been touched for a while.I wish there were pictures of the classes so other people know what it looks like, including me. I haven't played AQ for a long time. Captain | contribs 01:16, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm... that is a good idea but to include pics for every class will take up a lot of room and it will look messy. I will check with Eruhildo to see if there is a way to include the pics (I can upload all of them) into the class tables we have set up. We'll see...
ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ ~Talk to Me~~My Acts~ 23:56, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So like I said above, is there ANY way I could get the pics to fit into the wikitables we have for the classes? If not, I could include the links to the pics or can we not do that?

ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ ~Talk to Me~~My Acts~ 00:00, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded pics for ALL classes. They can be accessed by typing into the wikipedia search engine: Image:AQ(class name goes here).jpg. Make sure you use lowercases in the class name and no () or spaces ^_^. Please tell me if they are ok. By the way, I now know how to insert the pics into the tables, just that they will have to be scaled down, especially the wizard one.
ɫ§Veonyx§ɫ ~Talk to Me~~My Acts~ 05:30, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I couldn't respond sooner - I haven't been online in two days. Ok, here's the deal on pics: if they're non-free, like these are, they must appear in an article or they will be deleted (FU7). Also, one should try to use as few non-free pics as posible in an article (FU3). For more details on non-free content, see WP:NONFREE. I wouldn't suggest putting in pics in the tables as it look kind of messy (and the tables look great now). Well, you might be able to fit one at the start of the Classes section, but it's up to you. You won't be able to use most of them (if you had a single snapshot showing several classes together, that might work). I suggest you add {{subst:orfud}} to the images you're not going to use, otherwise a bot will do it for you and put a bunch of annoying messages on your talk page (I5). --Eruhildo (talk) 14:16, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, can I ask what the source is for the vol 7 chapter list you added to Gunslinger Girl? It hasn't been solicited yet. Also, are you sure that Triela and Claes on the cover? The two women I'm looking at seem to be adults, so unless something has dramatically changed in the story, I don't think that's them. Collectonian (talk) 06:16, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. Chapters 35 and 36 are in English, chapters 33, 34, and 37 I translated. 33: 彼女の箱庭 (I've seen this translated as "The Girl and Her Minature Garden"). 32: 約束 (this one is pronounced "yakusoku", you may have heard it in anime or something before). 37: 勇者は恐れず. I haven't gotten to the point in the volume where they change Triela and Claes, but I glanced through and noticed older versions of them. This discussion mentions it. Is that enough? --Eruhildo (talk) 06:30, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
EDIT: Finished the volume. Triela and Claes basically got makeup jobs and changed clothes and stuff to make them look older and more "hip". The way they look on the cover is the way they look in part of the manga. --Eruhildo (talk) 07:37, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, check out Wikipedia:Edit lock - it explains how to use the {{inuse}} template. --Eruhildo (talk) 21:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm familiar with the spoiler policy, but there are still times when you need to make a judgment call. The spoiler policy is not intended to suggest we have to include spoilers, only that we not be concerned about spoilers interfering with the completeness of the article. In this case, the entire ending to the book is actually destroyed if you know the narrator's name; if you only read the manga, you don't realize the scale of it (which is why it keeps getting added.) Since nobody would ever expect the character's names to have an effect like that, I think his name is better addressed in a separate section - which would need sourcing on the importance of the unnamed narrator. As it stands, I think the significance of the narrator's name does not outweigh the damage caused, and an exception needs to be made. Doceirias (talk) 19:24, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, you've convinced me; however, the article currently says: "an unnamed male narrator" - that is incorrect and should be changed. Perhaps something like just "a boy" or "a boy who remains unnamed until late in the story" or something like that, and then of course explain why in another section. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:58, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 3RR[edit]

ummm.. thanks for the heads-up, but I wasn't trying to editwar. (to be honest, I have no idea what the subject of the article is). I was reverting stuff like this and I had to wait for an admin to block the guy. Just wanted to let you know. Regards. Thingg 20:22, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MechQuest Style Thingummy[edit]

Yeah, I see what you mean. Probably both MQ and DF need cleanup for style! Alinnisawest (talk) 17:26, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're probably right, I haven't been through them in a while and I've had trouble keeping up with the changes a bit, so I'm sure there are spots I've missed. Thanks for all your hard work lately. --Eruhildo (talk) 18:19, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome... I'm on a lot because I pretty much have nothing else to do, so if I notice something, I try to fix it. Alinnisawest (talk) 21:07, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Admin coaching[edit]

I'd be happy to. I'll add your name at the status page at WP:ADCO and give you a formal review in a bit. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 04:26, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I look forward to your guidance. --Eruhildo (talk) 05:24, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Note that I haven't forgotten you, I've just been pushed for time recently. I'll get that formal review to you as soon as I can (a "formal review" from me is really long, see User talk:Gary King/Archive 4#Comments from your coach or User talk:Vivio Testarossa/Archive 3#Coaching offer for what that means, and feel free to read them for tips). Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 23:18, 12 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, that is long. Don't worry about taking a while, I'm in no rush. Just to let you know so you don't have to go checking whether I do, I don't ever use scripts or Twinkle or anything like that. I just like doing things by hand (don't trust computers to think since I write software). --Eruhildo (talk) 02:49, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template for WikiProject AE[edit]

Hello, Eruhildo. I was wondering: Could I put that template back? It seems a lot neater and more organized with the template in there. If not, why? Ronan Alifar (talk) 21:42, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm.. the list looks messier than I expected. Ok sure, just move what you wrote to the talk page since I think it will be helpful. --Eruhildo (talk) 22:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I was expecting...well, I actually am not sure of what I was expecting. Anyway, the template deletion tag has been removed, everything is (hopefully) organized now. Ronan Alifar (talk) 00:29, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Quick Question[edit]

Hello, Eruhildo. I have a quick question... Is it possible that every time someone new joins the project, is there any rule prohibiting the members of said project to send a kind of...almost like a welcome template, with links to Video game guidelines, and such? 'cause I wrote something like it that could be used for WikiProject AE.

Thanks for letting me waste your time. Ronan Alifar (talk) 20:32, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I brought that up on the project talk page a while back but got no responce. I'd love to see what you've come up with. Sorry for the late response - I was out of town for the weekend and forgot to mention it in my notice at the top. --Eruhildo (talk) 22:49, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I have the wiki markup assembled, I was wondering how it would be best to send it to you. Should I post it on this talk page? Or on the WikiProject Discussion/Main Page somewhere? Ronan Alifar (talk) 00:10, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't you create a sandbox and drop the code in there. That would be the easiest thing. Plus it will let you see how it would look and give you a chance to tweak it. --Eruhildo (talk) 03:25, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've had some very very personal issues that have stopped me going on here. Forgive my lateness. Here is the sandbox...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Ronan_Alifar/templatetest Ronan Alifar (talk) 02:42, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's ok, I haven't been on much the last few days anyway. Wow, really good job with the welcome template. I'll add it too the project right away. --Eruhildo (talk) 07:42, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks! Ronan Alifar (talk) 01:31, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Manhwa[edit]

Hi! I'm glad to hear you're interested in getting some organized manhwa work going! Right now, Wikiproject Comics has a World Comics working group that, at present, doesn't include the Asian comics category. I thought this would be a great place to stick manhwa, since manhwa will probably never attain the kind of massiveness that the Anime & Manga project has, and because it will allow for consistency with other "related" types of comics like Chinese manhua. I've left a message there asking if we can add manhwa (and other non-Japanese Asian comics, once a little more research is done) into the scope, and then we can "move in" and really get rolling. Does that sound amenable? The idea is just the same, just with a little bit different organizational structure, and I don't see there being any stepped-on toes or conflicts of interest in working with the existing comics project. Most of the folks there are focused on American comic strips and (mostly) the extensive Marvel/DC types of American comics, so we'd be pretty self-contained, I think. Based on your experiences, do you agree? Whatever the organizational structure winds up being, I look forward to working with you!! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 19:39, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Manhwa project is a go![edit]

I've just been informed that manhwa and other Asian comics have a home in the Comics Wikiproject's World Comics working group! Their omission from the scope was an accidental oversight, and will be rectified in the near future. Please head over to the project and add your name to the general participants list as well as the world comics participants list, and start tagging manhwa articles' talk pages with the group's template. Go ahead and add Korea Wikiproject's template, too, if it's not already there. Please also check out the working group's talk page, where I'm about to start a very rough list of possible tasks. I'm really excited and look forward to working with you! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 04:00, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cool! Thanks for telling me. I get started when I have a chance. --Eruhildo (talk) 16:59, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think your doing a great job on Atrix Entertainment Article's. Cheers!

Admin coaching[edit]

Hey, I told you a while ago that I would be your admin coach, and I find now that I really don't have the time or the mindset that I imagined I do for that kind of thing. You've certainly done a lot of work, much of it that would be considered gnoming, but if you want to be an administrator, you need to participate in administrator-specific fields, namely WP:AFD, tagging articles for speedy deletion using Special:Newpages, reverting vandalism and making reports to WP:AIV (which nowadays, requires WP:HUGGLE or WP:TWINKLE to even have a remote chance of catching vandalism before it is reverted by someone using the aforementioned tools), and more. I recommend that you try to seek another administrator coach at WP:ADCO, although I am always open if you want advice or anything of the sort. Best wishes, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 21:00, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's ok, I've been pretty busy lately too, so I haven't been here much. Yeah, I do a lot of gnoming, though I have revamped a couple of articles. Been meaning to write several, but haven't got around to it yet. I'll take your suggestions and hopefully work myself closer to adminship before looking for another coach. Thank you so much for the help and the links! --Eruhildo (talk) 04:50, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Trigun Examples??[edit]

This is an example of one of the narrations at the end of Trigun(English Version):

"People who sin say this:"That they had to, to survive." People who sin say this:"It too late now to stop." The shadow called "Sin" dogs them steadily from behind, silently with out a word. Remorse and Agony are repeated only to end up at despair, in the end. But the Sinners just don't know that if they'd only turn around, there's a light there. A light which keeps shining on them ever so warmly, a light that will never fade." -"Vash the Stampede", Trigun Episode Seven: "BND"- *Some of the notations and format could or need to be corrected but this is ruffly the words that was said.*

My reason is many of the "end episode" narrations may contain a Christian context. As such, it can be seen that these pieces of epilogue-like dialog reflect the spiritual/and or religious beliefs of Vash due to his character and his actions displayed in the series. Maybe it should be a small mentioned in as a part of of the themes found in Trigun.( More concrete research is required.)---AKIRA70 (talk) 03:43, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, the end narrations did have a kind of deep/spiritually theme to them. I didn't think Vash said them, though I've only seen the Japanese version and it's been a while. As much as I would love to add that into the article, it falls under original research (a.k.a. "no go"). If you could find a review or a book or something that says something like that, then we could cite it and put it in the article, but otherwise we can't include it. Thanks for providing an example and coming up with idea though. --Eruhildo (talk) 04:13, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Resignation from Artix Entertainment Project[edit]

I would like to tell you, the project leader, I unfortunately will have to pull out from the Artix Entertainment project as:

  • My knowledge on either games, MechQuest and DragonFable has become rather ancient, and thus will not help. And I doubt I can catch up anytime soon because:
  • And probably most of my free time that I can use on Wikipedia will be mostly taken up working on McGill or the Blue Jays.

However, I would like to come back to the project a year from now after McGill has been finished and I've caught up with the plot of MechQuest and Dragonfable.

Thank you,

P.S. Please reply on my talk page.

Zombie Powder[edit]

Well, sorry about your lack of time recently, but I know how school goes. You might want to come over and check what I've done with the thing though, I think it looks pretty good now. --erachima talk 01:10, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks great! I'm a little confused as to what the refs linking to each volume's Amazon listing in the chapter list are for though. Also, I would suggest trimming the plot section way down (like to one paragraph) and taking the paragraphs about each volume and putting them in the appropriate Summary fields in the chapter listing. That done, I'd call it a B class article. Good work. --Eruhildo (talk) 03:35, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I plan on tracking down a few more reception references and trying for GA with the thing. (I'll probably also end up wussing out and page referencing the in universe info so that the reference count looks better, though frankly that shouldn't be necessary and doesn't improve the page AT ALL.)
To address the questions you brought up, the Amazon refs are just convenience links for ISBN and release data. For plot summary, I think the current length is acceptable, especially since it covers the setting and terminology as well. Splitting it up into individual volume summaries would be unhelpful for two reasons that I see: first, it would require a lot of redundancy between the media and plot sections, and second, volumes 2-4 have almost nothing happen in them, so their summaries are best combined. Otherwise, we'd have to give excessively detailed retelling of the fight scenes to pad the paragraph lengths up to grammatically acceptable standards. A lesser reason is that I've never seen a page use the summary field unless it was an independent list (ala List of Bleach chapters), though I'll admit I haven't exactly gone looking.
On a somewhat related note, have you seen this yet? It looks like a major article improvement drive is in order if our project is going to be ready for 0.7 next month. --erachima talk 04:04, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Dear (manga)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Dear (manga), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Regards, Ben Aveling 20:59, 26 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK. My position isn't that the topic is non-notable, just that from contents of the article, it's not clear that it is notable. Thanks, Ben Aveling 00:09, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain what your edit summary here means?[1] It sounds like these are summaries taken from somewhere else, which is a really big no no. For now, I've reverted pending response. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 23:43, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I guess I should have been clearer. I definitely wouldn't take them from some place else! They were written by someone I know from a Gunslinger Girl focused forum for the purpose of updating the article here. The other members don't have accounts, so they've just been having me make all the updates. Sorry for the confusion. --Eruhildo (talk) 23:47, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay...I think that might be a bit fuzzy on the copyvio line, though, since forum posts are copyrighted. It would probably be better if he did the updates himself (he doesn't have to have an account to do it), but not going to worry about it too much. :) -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:10, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I've been thinking about telling him that. Basically, there's several forum members that have gotten together to work on cleaning up the Gunslinger Girl articles and I've been clarifying Wikipedia guidelines and stuff to them as none of them are familiar with them. I've also been making edits as they point out stuff to me that needs to be fixed. --Eruhildo (talk) 01:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi![edit]

I'm sorry to trouble you during your wikibreak but I need your help. Please refer to:

User:Marasmusine thinks the sections he/she deleted is a bit unsourced and breaks Wikipedia policy guidelines. What do you think?

Please respond both here and on my talk page, please.

--Mark Chung (talk) 13:21, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I'm late - I haven't been on Wikipedia since before Thanksgiving (was out of town). Everything Marasmusine was saying seems reasonable - having verifiable sources is important. It seems the two of you have worked everything out now, right? If you want to look for sources, I suggest starting at the WP:VG's list of sources. Oh, and I do have an AQ account, but I rarely use it 'cause I'm busy and I prefer DF. --Eruhildo (talk) 03:57, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I Returned...[edit]

Hi, I know I've been away for a while (what, four months or so?), but I just wanted to let you know I'm back on the Wiki, and I hope to do some work on the articles. I cleaned up AQWorlds today, because it needed some serious work, and was going to look around and see where else I'm needed.

Are you still on the Wikiproject? Or has it sort of died out again? Sorry again for leaving without any notice, I had personal problems. --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 21:34, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yay! Long time no see. I've been pretty busy the last couple of months so I haven't been around much either. With the two of us fairly inactive, the project has been rather quite. Some new members have shown up (mostly for AQW), but they could use some experienced help. I can't wait till I have the time to do major revisions and write up guidelines. Thanks for cleaning the AQW article - it's needed it badly for a while. --Eruhildo (talk) 19:29, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I saw the new people... I was looking over the MQ article, and you could tell it hasn't been watched over as carefully as it could have been. There was a lot of little bits of misinformation- the sort of thing that just gets shuffled in there and no one really notices it. I cleaned it up, but haven't had a chance to look at the DF article yet. --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 19:36, 7 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on List of Gunslinger Girl characters/TOC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Editor437 (talk) 03:41, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have finished drafting the article and moved it out of my user space. I did the best I can with translations and rōmaji, but I'd like it if you gave it a onceover. However, I think up to chapter 8 has been released in English in Yen Press' Yen Plus, but can't find official English titles. In addition, I used the cover of the first volume rather than the collection as I'm not sure if the FUR will hold. Expansion on that is found here. Reply or look at it at your leisure. ~Itzjustdrama ? C 20:27, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The translations look good except for the ishi ones, but those are... messy. Half of them are just combinations of kanji and not actual words as far as I can tell. I fixed some of the rōmaji - when is used as a particle it's romanized "wa", and when you see something like された at the end of a verb that's part of the conjugation. --Eruhildo (talk) 23:56, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The ishi ones have all いし as furigana. So that's what I put them down as in the rōmaji. ~Itzjustdrama ? C 00:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The rōmaji for the ishi ones was fine, it's the translations I find a bit questionable, at least going by the character's meanings. --Eruhildo (talk) 02:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The translation, yeah, are kind of weird. I find most of them okay, have to force them a little. But 移徙 and 以次 I can't make heads or tails of. ~Itzjustdrama ? C 02:34, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, those were the ones I had the biggest issue with. I would translate 移徙 as "Move" instead of "Change" as both characters have that reading according to EDICT and in Chinese it means something like "migration". As for 以次, I would say something like "hereafter", "from now on", or "the future" would be closer than "plus". A similar word is 以後 (wiktionary:以後, wiktionary:ja:以後); I'm guessing the mangaka just needed a character that could be pronounced shi and chose . --Eruhildo (talk) 03:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Those are a lot better translations. I'll go add them onto the list. I think I'll change seat to chair as chair is actually what it says. ~Itzjustdrama ? C 03:14, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mermaid Saga[edit]

I noticed the subject article is on your list of things to do. I'm starting to edit it, TV Episode list first. My bandwidth is not particularly high, so changes aren't going to happen very fast (weeks, not hours or days). Feel free to leave me messages back here, on my talk page, or on the article's talk page. --Unready (talk) 19:08, 7 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh good, the article has needed that for a while. I was working on the character summaries before, but I got busy in real life and haven't been on Wikipedia for a while. I'll try to get back on that soon and then we can make a good article out of it. ^_^ --Eruhildo (talk) 22:48, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 944 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Artix Entertainment. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Artix Entertainment (4th nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Manga wiki saves articles others keep destroying[edit]

They seem ready to delete an article added most of the content on, Watashi no Ōkami-san. Just wanted to say, I imported it to the manga wiki, full history and everything, so it will be preserved somewhere. If you want you can continue editing it over there, along with over seven thousand other manga related articles. http://manga.wikia.com/wiki/Watashi_no_Okami-san Dream Focus 08:39, 21 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're awesome. Thank you for saving it. --Eruhildo (talk) 04:14, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
