I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article James Iha guitars, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Zeitgeist songs[edit]

Hello,

I notice you've been systematically adding stubs for several songs on the (upcoming) Zeitgeist album. However, most of these are not notable, in the sense that Wikipedia defines it (i.e. WP:Notability, WP:Notability (music)), most contain little or no real information, and some contain original research WP:OR. Also, the album hasn't been released yet, so practically no-one will have heard these songs.

"Pumpkins fans want to know facts about them" doesn't really qualify, especially if none of the articles contain any real facts as such. At the current level of detail in these articles, the relevant information could easily be incorporated onto the album's article. If the songs become notable at a later date, then of course separate articles would be appropriate. Therefore, I'm changing all of these to redirects to Zeitgeist (apart from Tarantula, That's The Way, and Doomsday Clock, as they can claim some degree of notability).

If it makes any difference, I'm a huge Pumpkins fan. However, I'm also an ardent Wikipedia fan, and don't like to see indiscriminate sprawl of stubs when they're clearly not necessary. Oli Filth 23:09, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL.
