Hello, I think this might be able to become a policy or guideline on Wikipedia, on the basis of WP:V and WP:PROVEIT. If you have any comments, please add them here.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Eternal dragon (talkcontribs) 11:10, 9 October 2007(UTC)

Hmm. This seems to be alluded to in WP:PROVEIT, but I wouldn't mind it becoming an accepted guideline. The problem is the cumulative effect of editors needing to waste time discussing sources, when essentially, they should be there when the material is added. In addition, the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. I've edited the article to reflect that. I think that this could simply be linked to from the WP:V page.James-SugronoContributions 13:19, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It could be left as a nice essay, but there is no need for yet-another-guideline. We have the main policy of WP:V and ancillary guidelines WP:RS and WP:CITE that do the job. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 15:36, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
