July 2013[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Alexander Soros, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Fat&Happy (talk) 04:40, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 20[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Liviu Librescu, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Israeli and American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Edit Warring[edit]

You currently have 4 reverts! You can be blocked right now! Stop edit warring on Jackson Pollock. If you object to other editors opinions about the material then raise your objection on the talk page.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. ...Modernist (talk) 18:45, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre edits[edit]

Hi, I'm wondering why you would make bizarre edits such as this. Your change resulted in one link being split into three parts: a link, an unlinked "ș", and a duplicate link. This is one of the oddest things I've ever seen here. Was your intention to highlight that special character by making it stand out, unlinked, wedged between the two links? (Or do some browsers combine the special character into the preceding link? If so, your edit would still produce two identical links next to each other.) I replaced your "Constantin Brâncuși" with "Constantin Brâncuși".

I see that you've made many such edits. If you come across a link such as Constantin Brâncuşi, the best way to handle it is to first check and see if the correct title exists: Constantin Brâncuși. If it does, then simply replace the existing link with a link to the correct page, without piping. If the article has an incorrect title, you may move the article to the correct title and then proceed as above. If you don't want to move the article, or you don't want to bother checking if the correct title exists, you should make a simple pipe: Article with ș character. Opting in to VisualEditor[edit]

As you may know, VisualEditor ("Edit beta") is currently available on the English Wikipedia only for registered editors who choose to enable it. Since you have made 100 or more edits with VisualEditor this year, I want to make sure that you know that you can enable VisualEditor (if you haven't already done so) by going to your preferences and choosing the item, "MediaWiki:Visualeditor-preference-enable". This will give you the option of using VisualEditor on articles and userpages when you want to, and give you the opportunity to spot changes in the interface and suggest improvements. We value your feedback, whether positive or negative, about using VisualEditor, at Wikipedia:VisualEditor/Feedback. Thank you, Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 18:20, 11 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
