License tagging for Image:3089.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:3089.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Española Valley High School[edit]

When editing articles such as Española Valley High School, please make sure the formatting conforms to Wikipedia's Manual of Style — this means no coloured headings. Also, it's not necessary to add upcoming sports events or a listing of wins/losses for every team (unless they have won a championship). Guidelines for what should and should not be included in school articles can be found at WikiProject Schools.

Have a look at other similar articles or the article Dallas Independent School District which is considered to be a good school article. If you have any questions please contact me on my talk page. ... discospinster talk 15:45, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to revert all of the fancy formatting you've done to the article, because, well, Wikipedia isn't here to provide you a platform to hype your school. Pairadox (talk) 06:15, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Chimayo, New Mexico. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Chimayo, New Mexico, without explaining the reason for the removal in the edit summary. Unexplained removal of content does not appear constructive, and your edit has been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox for test edits. Thank you. Thank you for uploading Image:Mayor.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 23:36, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove tags from articles asking for references. It is up to the editor who added the claims to provide sources showing that they are true. The claim about appearing on Newsweek's "Best High School List" is false, as can be seen here: The Top of the Class: The complete list of the 1,300 top U.S. schools.

Secondly, Image:Sparky.gif cannot be used on the Española Valley High School article unless there is a fair use rationale associated with it on the image page.

Thirdly, please use an edit summary when making edits to articles. This allows other editor to see what you have done without having to go through the history of the page.

Image tagging for Image:PvcWRESTLE6.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PvcWRESTLE6.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from or who created it. We requires this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the information to the image's description. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 01:07, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Do not add images to the article that do not have a fair-use rationale for that article.
  2. Do not remove clean-up tags such as {{unreferenced}} without addressing the concerns.
  3. Do not change formatting that has been put in line with the Manual of Style, specifically the headings, which are to be in lower case.

If you continue to ignore Wikipedia guidelines your edits will be considered vandalism. ... discospinster talk 14:22, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

EVHS, LAHS edits[edit]

Hi,

I don't really care if your goal as an editor is to promote all things EVHS and (to a less extent) to trash neighboring rival LAHS. But you if you don't play by the rules, you're just going to cause an edit war and/or get banned.

So, here are the rules:

  • Edits must be notable.
  • Edits must be verifiable.
  • Edits must not consist of original research.
  • Edits must express a neutral point-of-view.

Cheers, --128.244.140.238 (talk) 16:10, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The assumption that you are interested in trashing LAHS came from this "anonymous" edit which was almost certainly added by you.

But I checked your references and you were right about several things:

  • the latest enrollment numbers
  • the official colors (but note: forest has only one "r")
  • some state titles were incorrect

In the future you should update the references if you are changing a referenced fact. Then your edits won't be reverted. If you have a source regarding LAHS's failure of Adequate Yearly Progress then feel free to add that to the article yourself. But be fair: many excellent schools don't pass AYP since AYP is a measure of improvement, not a measure of performance. As noted by the CCSSO The assumption that "not making AYP"(as defined in NCLB and in subsequent USDE regulations) is an accurate generalization for ineffective instruction cannot by justified. [1]

--128.244.140.238 (talk) 03:13, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh BTW, I've researched it and found out that LAHS actually does consistently meet AYP. [2]

--128.244.140.238 (talk) 03:57, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Once again:

  • Do not add images to the article that do not have a fair-use rationale for that article.
  • Do not remove clean-up tags such as {{unreferenced}} without addressing the concerns.
  • Please also be aware of sockpuppet issues.

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Espanola Valley Logo.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Espanola Valley OFFICIAL LOGO.png. The copy called Image:Espanola Valley OFFICIAL LOGO.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Speedy deletion of Image:EV.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:EV.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image which is not under a free license or in the public domain and it has not been used in any article for more than seven days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:EV.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free media (Image:StatsEVHS.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:StatsEVHS.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:38, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
